Eye opener indeed. Sec 1 text books for $600 ....

Is there Nets available in the bookstore?
Don't have that's why panic.... Just imagine a kiasumum rushing down to bookstore after the talk. Hysterical to be first in queue and then to realise... not enough $..... Yes, it was eventful for me to remember.

BTW, this is not including the slate/ laptop cost if the school is one of those IT focus schools. That will be another $1K-$2K.

I think IP schools donch have that many textbooks. Perhaps you should check with the laojiao RGS parents.

And if you have already DSA, you donch have to wait until the posting day to get the uniform.

Wow w three kids i guess wil cost ard 1000 ea yr

With 2 in Sec school and 1 in primary.... probably more. Though someone \"consolated\" me last year that uniform is like a \"one time\" cost. It will probably last them for the next 4 years (for girls). For boys, we need to get the long pants when they are in Sec3.

For girls, some school will change the uniform also in Sec3. For example, NJC

:yikes: $600 is really a lot, don't remember spending much for DS1 on matriculation day except Chinese textbooks which I can grab at any Popular bookstore. Even the school uniform cost less than $100 ..... The school don't require any textbooks ..... πŸ˜‚
But wait, next 2 kan chiong dates would be Fri 21 Nov PSLE results release and release of S1 posting results on Fri 19 Dec ..... πŸ˜“ :nailbite: :scared:

err... do we have to be physically around for the S1 posting results on Fri 19 Dec? I mean for the non-DSA students? We are planning for a trip around first 1-2 weeks of Dec, but may only come back around 19-20 Dec (still waiting for confirmation). I heard that the S1 posting results will be sent via SMS? Or do the children need to go back to their primary school to receive the posting results? :scratchhead:

And they need to report to their posted school on 22 Dec (Monday) right? In their primary school uniform...?

Sorry... first kid sitting PSLE.... πŸ˜‰

me also but from my brothers experience, is ok. results for posting will be via SMS. Not to go back to pri school for receiving.
important is to be back by 21.12.14 for 22 reporting in sec school.
Oh no. Booked our family vacation for 3rd and 4th week of Dec. Thot all reg should complete by then. πŸ˜“

For those that DSA, guess we can buy the books and uniform earlier?

What need to be done when reporting to Sec sch?

                    Hi all

I have created another Google Docs on the answers of Higher Mother Tongue.

                    The link is https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

Feel free to update any of the documents.

Also, do try to recall of the answer from the PSLE Mathematics and English, Mother Tongue and Science Paper.

The link to the Mother Tongue Papers is
                    https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing

The link to the PSLE English Paper is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LDq ... sp=sharing

and the link to the PSLE Mathematics Paper is

                    https://docs.google.com/document/d/1kux ... sp=sharing

The link to the Science PSLE paper is https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fhe ... sp=sharing

Do edit the translation of my titles of the different documents as I am not proficient in any of the Mother Tongues.

                    Cheers πŸ˜„

                      MMM:
Based on last year's impression, on S1 posting date, parents will receive a SMS on where the child is posted to. BTW, one of dd's classmate's mum didn't get the sms and I think she had to check the posting online. So long as you can receive/ check this information it's fine.

I am however unsure in the event of appeal, when will that action start as my dd dsa.
I see, so can also check online? I assume they will give us all these information right? i blur blur...

Any experience mummies/daddies here to share when does the appeal process start? One mummy told me to appeal on the same day we receive the posting results. Does the child need to be present for the appeal? Or anyone can be there to fill up an appeal form??

Ha ha, I'm kiasi enough to think of contingency plan now... even before the results are now....
