      totopug, try these threads instead:

u can also visit the parents networking forum and look for the schs' individual threads.

btw, u may not be able to take a look at the schs except from the outside. most schs will have open house days. it's best to call up first before u go.

The different lists - academic, top students etc...they rate differently on each (or am i reading them wrong?!? )

        1) Maha bodhi (btw they have no PV scheme)
        2) Mee Toh
        3) Nan Chiau
        4) Kong Hwa
        Hi Totopug,

Although these schools are on the eastern/north eastern side, unless you are planning to move where your preferred school may be, it would be impossible to lug them all on the same plate. First, where are you staying - distance will come into play should balloting be required under Phase 2B. I always remember a long ago post where someone clocked over 100 hours but was unable to get even a chance at balloting cos she was staying more than 2km away.

DS was born in 2005. I've just stopped working to look into how we can get him priority - affiliation/PV/distance....but I need to decide on the right school. just want to do a quick poll of the KS parents here - how would you rate theses schools from most preferred to least? The different lists - academic, top students etc...they rate differently on each (or am i reading them wrong?!? )

Looking at your choice these are hot favourite schools, if can get into PV would give you a better chance in Phase 2B. Even in Phase 2B some of these schools may surface out balloting situation.

I would suggest that you have backup plan in case these 4 schools you really no chance get in at all. lastly, it would be wise to stay near to the school as distance is the crucial parameter in all registration phase.

Can anyone help me with these questions?

We intend to buy an apartment within 1km to Pei Hwa in order to get a place for our boy. Don’t know how high is the chance for 1 km residents in PeiHwa.
Do all the students have to be or will mostly likely be converted to christian after joining the school? We are non-christians.

Do check the past balloting history that would give you some info regarding balloting in Pei Hwa. Generally staying in 1Km in Phase 2C would give you a place. From the past few years, balloting for those staying at 1-2Km.

                1. You can check the balloting history in KiasuParents.com Forum.
                2. I don't think so.

I grew up in a Christian school for 10 years. Many of my peers did not convert to Christianity. Their family taught them to respect other's religion, gain exposure but not to falter to pressure of being in the environment.

However, if you intend to send your kids to a Christian school, you must be open to the possibility of them converting, maybe not immediately but later into their teenage or adult years.

Thanks schellen - the links were really useful.

hquek and titank - yep, I am very willing to start volunteering or even moving - both need time/resources, so I want to be sure I'm 'investing' in the right school. who knows I may even try to volunteer at 2 schools just to play safe!
