Where to buy travel insurance?
-
I have just bought one through Citibank which has a discount (can’t remember what %), but I think the offer is only for Citi cardholders. If you have one, you can google on it. This is my first time buying from them so I can’t comment much other than that the offer made it good value for me at the moment. Previously, I have bought from NTUC Income a few times and claimed once - the claim was prompt and smooth. I haven’t really shopped around.

I check and found MSIG to be the best value for money , cheaper than NTUC income as well as Travelershield offered by DBS/POSB (30% discount) but underwritten by MSIG.
Citibank travel insurance is underwritten by ACE and has a 35% discount, but then it is still slightly higher priced compared to what was quoted on MSIG, at least for the one i requested.
Go direct to MSIG (35% discount from 1st Oct to 22 Feb 2015) it will be at least 5% cheaper than at DBS/POSB .

Hi, has anyone utilised the free travel insurance provided by your credit card? Is it considered sufficient or recommended to buy extra?
I am looking at the one by the ANZ travel card.
Thanks for any input!

However, if you go by the basic tenet of insurance that something is better than nothing, then you can't complain about the low value when it's free. -
I don’t trust the insurance provided by the credit card.
As floppy says, it is insufficient.
Better to buy your own and read the clause carefully. -
Any feedback on Etiqa http://www.etiqa.com.sg/?

I always use Tenet. Easy to buy over the Internet. Best thing is I have made claims on various occasions (they are claims ranging for $1-2k) and they were easy and fuss free. I feel the real test with insurance is the claim process and Tenet is has passed this test for me several times!
