I think there's no need to rush into buying everything on the list. I made that mistake 8 years ago and realised a few things were not even used. A good example is that Longman picture dictionary. Just omit the optional items and get them only when necessary.

As for uniforms, I should be getting 3 skirts, 2 or 3 uniforms and 2 PE T-shirts in total.
There are 3 days of PE. I will recommend buying 3 sets of PE attire n 2 sets of uniforms.

Oh, 3 days already. Or maybe I remembered wrongly. So sorry for the wrong info. I’ll also buy 3 sets of PE attire if there are 3 PE days.

There are usually 2 or 3 PE days in a week. I usually buy 2 sets of uniform and 2 sets of PE attire first and buy more when the timetable is available. You can buy more skirts for girls as they have to wear it even on PE days.

Can I ask how many kids in one class, is it 40?

Will there be a Mon to Fri list of items on paper for us know what to bring to school so we know what to pack?

              P1 and P2 are 30 per class.

I think the school will not spoonfeed us by giving us a list of to-bring items from mon to fri. The time-table will be suffice to tell us the kind of books to bring every day. However, I do remember the form teacher giving us a list of to-buy eg. a basket to put books under the table, a number lock.

Parents with children in NYP, do you wrap all the workbooks, textbooks, exercise books with covers?

I did not plastic wrap the books. So far after a year books are in generally okay condition.

Anyone knows how to get book list to buy for P2? Do the teachers from P1 follow up to P2? These days in NYPS do they still have medals/trophy for 1st,2nd,3rd places in the class? For P1 class that is.

Teacher will distribute the book list to your DC.
Not all the teachers will follow up to P2. E.g. FT will follow up but other subject teachers will change.
Class positions will not be revealed.
                        For P1, some awards are:
High Achiever Awards (Top 5 in each class)
Bilingual (Top in Eng+Chin of the P1 cohort)
Best in Mathematics (Top of the P1 cohort)
Outstanding Character Awards (2 per class)
                        Good Progress Award for Chinese
Rising Star Award (English) (selected from LSP students)
Rising Star Award (Maths) (selected from LSP students)
