CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace

Oh My Macaroons! You've got to be kidding me! You mean to say that there's a 20% increase every year? And there are non-CHIJ school buses that ply the same route with such stark differences in pricing?! Can we take non-IJ buses? Is there a difference? Whereabouts is your abode?
I would love to drive her myself, but I'm used to driving on the other side of the road and just am not confident enough to drive around here, yet. Have been relying primarily on taxis.
Hi Mummy xuan,
I did

Hi Harvard,
I am not sure about every year if they will increase. But from the year that my girl start taking school bus till now. It has been increasing.
Those non-IJ buses are normally located outside of CHIJ, parked opposite of the school. I believe most of them going to bukit panjang and chia chu kang area.
Those non-IJ buses have specific route. If your girl is within the route they will take you and its much cheaper (well, at least you can save $50 / month).
If they don’t go to your area, you probably have to gather about 9-10 kids so that they can open up a new route. -
Hi,
My daughter is in P1 this year and also takes the school bus. I understand that the price was raised beginning of this year, but I was already quoted the raised price so did not feel the pinch. Was a bit :yikes: when I receive the notice that they are increasing the price again next year. Hope it will not continue, but anyway I understand that prior to the raise this year, for the past few years there was no adjustment?
A couple of things to note about the school bus. The price is averaged out to be paid in 9 months instead of 12, so upfront it seems more pricey than others but if you work it out for the whole year I think it is reasonable. My only gripe is that they don't offer one way rate for nearby locations.
Coz my girl is still young, so I've decided to stick with the school service for now. Hopefully I can switch her to taking public transport when she is older. -

Think this is the reason they increase the price. -
Hi sherl,
The price of CHIJ transport have been raising for the past 2 years.
See my description on the prices from my previous post.
The price of CHIJ transports are ridiculously high…
Compared to those non IJ transports… They are $50/month more pricey… -
Hi Kozy,
This maybe not be the excuse.
Its a 20% increases… (With GST, it will be 27% increase in total)
And they have been increase every year… -
Hi everyone, hoping to know some parents here as we were rushing during last Wednesday orientation to K2 graduation rehearsal.
My daughter is P1 Hope. Anyone in the same class?
Speaking of bus, the kindergarten only charge $80 from my house (will increase to $90 next year), and the distance is slightly further than CHIJ. The IJ bus charge $129.
I also find this expensive. But I don’t have much of a choice for now, perhaps will consider public bus when my number 2 have also started Primary school. -
Hi,
I purchased 2 sets of uniform and 2 sets of PE attire only. Should I get 1 more uniform?
Would like to know from parent with girl currently in P1, how many days they need to wear PE attire? -
Thanks, scuby! Should’ve just sent her to RGPS. 5 mins walk! Sigh.
I bought 3 sets of uniform and 2 sets of PE attire for mine, Kozykape. I’m thinking there’ll be 2 days of PE. But I’m thinking of buying an extra set, for emergency.
Off topic - any old girls here? I was told that IJ’s having a 60th Anniversary celebration next year. Quite excited I am! -
Harvardalum,
You could put your name on the waiting list for RGPS. They might call you if there is a vacancy.
