I used Aus-ed a few years back (in 2010). Was accepted into many of the Go8 Aussie and UK unis, but chose UK nevertheless.

I m planning to send my daughter for college in the UK after her A level this year. What are the tests she needs to take before she can apply for the colleges there? For e.g. Bmat if she wants to try medicine, what are the others tests? Sats is for US.
Please guide me along, thanks. -

If your child wishes to study medicine, she will need to take the UKCAT test. They conduct the test a few times per year, which focuses on your verbal and analytical reasoning. it is quite a challenging test and certainly, you need a lot of time to prepare for the test. The thing is, you can only take the test ONCE per year, so you have to be strategic in aiming when to take the test.
After the test, there are more hurdles to clear. She will need to submit a personal statement [4000 characters/47 lines]. There is a centralised body [think it’s called UCAS]. So you just have to submit your test scores and personal statements to one body [they only allow you to apply for 4 medicine programme and one non-medicine program] in the UK.
After your clear the personal statement hurdle, your child will need to pass an interview. I do provide training in writing personal statements and interviewing skills (one-to-one coaching). You can contact me at 9017 3558. All the best for your child’s application.
