When my kids dsa, they attached their own external achievement certificates. The school didn't even record the unsw hd achievements in the report books, let alone other awards.
Do bear in mind that the awards that they have received will be recognised and shown in their report book.
So it is not true that external awards are recorded in the report book. Not for every case I presume. -
zeemimi:
Oh, then I am not so sure. For swimming, they actually indicate in their report book though my kid is swimming under club, not under school. But I believe other schools also published the achievements though they may not be their shcool CCA and they were trained externally.

Does anyone know how are P2 classes allocated to P3 next year? Is it based on results? is it true that there will be 2 top classes and the rest of the classes are allocated on a random order?

For this year, the P3s were all banded. From 3G (top class) to 3A. Not sure if it is still the same for next year. Under the previous principal, only the top 2 classes were banded for P3, but not the current one. -

My thought is we may not know if the ranking is still remain as G, F, E? It could be different for this batch again? There could be some complex way of doing to allocate the kids to the respective class so that parents cannot figure out and compare? According to what we know, there is a boy who performed very well in all his subjects and is in 7th position, he was put in 5F and there was another person in his class and is in last position as overall result was not good was promoted to 5G. :scratchhead: It seems like same scenerio happened to those who are promoting from P3 to P4 next year also. Also, it seems like there is no additional class for P5 next year and there is no foundation class next year so A may not necessary be the weak class. Could be a mixed ability across the cohort. Every class is a good class I guess. This could be the direction we are working towards to :rahrah: We heard about kids crying over the class they were allocated to. I feel very sorry for them. They mentioned that they will get scolding from their parents. They are so young and learning is really a long process. Primary level is just a first phase. -
From what i know, the kids are banded based on their English, Math & Science results.

Zeemimi, you are refering to last year to this year, kids are banded based on the 3 subjects results or are you refering to this year to next year? Becoz based on what parents have gathered, it doesn't seem to be so for P2 to P3, P3 to P4 and P4 to P5 next year as the banding of the subjects, whether includes or exdcludes Chinese, seem to be quite wide even the kids were allocated to the same class. But anyway, I do hope that it is a mixed abilities, I saw quite a number of kids are taking the banding and class allocation too seriously. -
mum2girls:
All along banding has been based on EMS. I'm not sure if there are any changes this year. I believe F & G classes remain the top 2 classes because they are required to buy different Math workbooks as compared to A - E.zeemimi:

Anyway, i don't really care much about banding. :imcool: -
HI all,
anybody has tried to order schools on the pacificbook website? it does not seems to have a drop down for the school levels. How to order the books? -
Starrydust:
Hi, the school only gotten their TOP today, hence the date cannot be uploaded. TOP is an approval given by agencies for moving in. Usually, they need to ensure the buildings are structurally sound and safe before they can issue the TOP. I have called the school, the date will be uploaded soon.HI all,
