Agree tt top 36 would definitely be better. Indeed the prize winners list from P2 to P3 differs a lot as compared to the previous.

To avoid heart attack, I am already mentally prepared. This is only my number 1 school going kid. 2 more to go. I need to conserve my energy. The second one is quite lousy. So this one, I am hoping she is not last 3. Not easy to be parents. When the child is intelligent, we feel stress. Not intelligent, also stress. 😓

I thk the drop in p3 result is mainly due to there’s now paper 1 compo which came with a 20marks. Some kids just started simple writing while some already writing like upper primary…especially those w years of enrichment.

Is there graded English and Chinese compo in P2, end of year SA?

Yes, compo is very subjective…However, CL compo seems to be easier since no present and past tense. Having said that, they are ppl who scored full for compos too.

For SA, there is English composition.
However, there is no Chinese composition. Instead , there are 4 pictures. Students need to write using 时间,人物,地点,活动 和 形容词。
The Chinese SA paper is not easy. Standard a bit high. It is out of 80 marks. No one in my son's class gets full mark.

Yes, I also think Chinese composition is easier. The only issue I feel is the structure. Sometimes, my DS translates directly from English so it sounds really weird and are incorrect.

Most sch that i knew off only give top 10 academic prize per cohort… so i find peichun not bad…more chance by class. By p5…there’s also top in subjects prize but monopolies by 1st class.

Is this a good gauge for our school too? My friend whose children are in a top SAP school shared with me.

For lower primary, out of 300 marks:

Top 25% of the cohort (qualify MOE bursary award) : > 280
                      Next 26% to 50% : 270 to 279
                      51% to 75% : 260 to 269
                      Bottom 25% : Below 259
