All About Full-Time Maids

That's hard to tell. It depends on your relationship with the current maid. If she's not leaving on good terms, then better not do it. On the other hand, if they're of different nationality maybe they won't chit chat that much. Also try to limit the overlapping time and ask the old maid to teach the new one major chores as quickly as possible.Thanks, minnie. Yes my agency confirmed it too.
Now do you think it's advisable to do so? Will my current maid badmouth us? Going to choose a different nationality though. -
blurqueen,
Singpass is the password for CPF, I think you mean S-pass holder. No she’s not qualified to be an S-pass holder. She doesn’t have a degree. According to MOM, think employers must pay for the 21 days levy for her to get new employer. Even agents tell me now MOM protect the maids and give the maid alot of information. Even the agent themselves don’t like it also no choice.
Have you guys sent out the feedback to MOM like what Tamarind say? I have been so busy these few days that I haven’t got down to it. Will be sending my feedback later. -

You mean she's an ex-singaporean?
background info: She's an ex-sin. -
That’s odd! I saw in the MOM website, criteria for S-pass must be degree holder. If no degree then will be under normal work permit much like those construction workers kind of status. If she really come back as S-pass holder, don’t think its possible to for you to track.

Seem like most Filipino Maids they are Single Parent. Is it common when I was at the agency select the maid-bio data?
When come to selection, does education, marital status like single, married or married with children that we have to consider? -

I don't trust bio-data. My current maid is supposed to know how to do housework, cook, look after kids etc. But she told us she only helped to look after a 9 year old boy previously.Seem like most Filipino Maids they are Single Parent. Is it common when I was at the agency select the maid-bio data?

A lot really depends on your luck, I think. -
toddles:
Toddles, it means that she's worked in Singapore before.
You mean she's an ex-singaporean?madinked:
background info: She's an ex-sin.
E.g., if she's ex-Middle East, she's had work experience in Middle East.
Hope that clarifies. -
lovekidsverymuch:
\"Single parent\" is a generic term that could mean one of these 3 things:
Mine is also single parent I like those type as they know how to handle kids plus they r really in need of money since they need to support the kids...titank:

Also they wont (most of the time) go out for guys when they take off
(1) mother whose marriage has been annulled (in PH, especially if they are married in Church, cannot divorce. They are a Catholic nation, afterall);
(2) mother who's married but civil wedding (again if they are not married in the Catholic Church, considered \"not married\");
(3) mother with child out of wedlock.
Else if her husband is no longer alive, she'd be known as a widow unless in case (2), hers was a civil wedding...
So, bio-data can only tell as much, real reason for single parenthood etc is not there so if you've concerned about morality etc, then PLEASE do not employ them or you'd be very worried when you leave your kids to the helpers or when you give them the day-off.
That said, bio data's can best act as a guide. It fully depends on the individual maid you pick. Luck of the draw :roll: -
Dear all,
Please read my blog about selecting maids :

Basically everything that the maid agency and the maid tell you, can be false.
The only truth is the maid's employment history on MOM website. Here are the instructions :
