Thank you tiredmama. It really helps us in our final decision.

      you are most welcome ๐Ÿ™‚
      :rahrah:

On a side note - not that it is of any importance.. the girls are mixed up within the cohort for their Orientation.. so there is no distinction between IP / O levels.. so it was a good opportunity for the girls to know one another ๐Ÿ™‚ across all the 8 classes. The girls also have days of mass PE / assemblies etc .... together... so plenty of non-academic cross overs.

Not sure whether anyone has asked before, just wonder whether the IP and 'O' level teacher will be teaching the girls within the cohort or do they have a different set of teachers teaching different program?

        Thank you.

We were impressed with SC including my girl and she had been asking all her friends to apply; but now she has doubts:

                  1) Someone told SC girls tend to be bullies and during birthdays, girls are pressured/obliged to buy branded goods as presents for their friends.
                  2) She read Rui Enโ€™s wiki and quoted "She took up ballet as a co-curricular activity in Primary Five but gave up in Secondary One, citing the pressure of coming from a wrong socio-economic class as the reason"

Now she had the impression that "something is wrong with SC". Anyone care to comment soon as we have to make a choice by tommorrow.

Pressure to conform would be everywhere. We have to constantly work on our girl's character too coz of such expectation....it's not just in SC.

Very wise words and totally agree. However, how many of us in our adulthood do not succumb to this kind of pressure ourselves?

Can't comment on that coz every individual is different and react differently.

But what you mentioned is happening in other schools too...perhaps no one talks about it that's all. Or they could have a diff set of 'value' problems too! Anyway, it'll be a different cohort vs the one you have heard about so they may not necessarily behave in the same way.

Don't be burdened by what you cannot control. Just be sure of yourself and how you would react when you have to face it.
