Hi all, my boy just graduated from Nanyang last year and having been in the school for 3 full years (since nursery), I am definitely not going to enrol my girl in this kindergarten. I feel that it follows a very regimental routine. I have viewed other kindergartens and they are not so worksheet driven, instead they encourage the child to learn and grow naturally. Moreover, the management has been changing too often in the last 3 years. My boy will come home telling me he sees new faces again and is not sure who is a teacher, who is the principal, who is a vice principal… or if there is even one!

really so bad? then why did Jim Rogers put his daughters there? He said that they did a very comprehensive studies in the schools here and found that Nanyang Kindy is the best kindy in singapore and Nanyang Primary is the best primary school here too… His two gals are the ones in the advert for the mandarin campaign - 电灯在哪里?

i think the name and reputation comes from the primary and secondary school. From what i see and hear (from other unhappy parents as well), they are hiring unqualified enrichment teachers (worksheets with grammatical errors) to conduct classes during school time. shouldnt enrichment classes be outside school time? i just find it quite funny.

Anyone here have their kids in the same class with Jim Rogers daughter "Le Le" in kindergarten or primary school? She should be in NYPS P1 this year.

I think I probably would just go ahead and enroll my dd in NYK (main factor is location location location...), and if I regret it (or not), I'll let you guys now! :xedfingers:
