I also like an empty fridge. I only buy what is necessary for the limited days I intend to cook. And I also want to clear my fridge soonest possible, as I hate to be greeted by a cluttered fridge with perishables that are near their expiry dates.

My family only takes fresh meat and veggies. No fast-frozen meats. Must consume the same day or within the next two days. Hence, not difficult to keep the fridge as empty as possible.

The only things that are constantly found in my fridge are: eggs, fresh milk, yogurt, cultured milk, cheese, honey, fruit juice, jam, butter, oyster sauce, salad dressings, various marinades, ketchup and chili sauce, dried foodstuffs, and seasonal fruits.

I find that IMM has not much to offer compared to Jem/Westgate.

What do the shoppers buy since most of the shops are branded factory outlets? Items may not necessarily be cheap?

haha...I prefer IMM mainly because Giant is there.
I used to patronize Kopitiam and Daiso in IMM too.
BTW, the Popular in IMM is closed for reno.

For Jem/Westgate, I find it confusing, probably am not familiar with the layout. For grocery shopping from the NTUC there, I would prefer to go Clementi Mall.

IMM has become very run down...it feels like a warehouse.
branded factory stuff...how many can you buy? a polo ralph top or coach every month?

be careful when shopping at giant...prices have increased. ntuc is cheaper and there is one ntuc extra at jem....fabulous!
popular at imm has closed for renovation...when it reopens next year, it will located on another floor and taking up just a small space.

OT: I concurr with Janet88 that some goodies are cheaper in ntuc. Thus I often compare the prices of items before buying.

Woke up early to finish mopping the whole place - feeling great and clean now!

the only item I buy from giant is the house brand cream cleanser to wash toilet bowl and sink...jif is expensive. used to buy giant kitchen towels but quality is thin.

vacuumed and mopped last night so that I can sleep in today. fortunately I did that because I had a bad cramp and backache from first day menses this morn

Although Giant has a very wide range of brands n products, what I hate most is the super slow queue at the cashier.

The self checkout counter is also not user friendly unlike NTUC.

Agreed that Giant prices has increased and may not be cheaper than NTUC now, some items like Fruitree carrot juice and Meiji milk are cheaper in NTUC now, must really compare prices now…
