Agreed that Giant prices has increased and may not be cheaper than NTUC now, some items like Fruitree carrot juice and Meiji milk are cheaper in NTUC now, must really compare prices now…

          zbear:
Although Giant has a very wide range of brands n products, what I hate most is the super slow queue at the cashier.

The self checkout counter is also not user friendly unlike NTUC.
not only that, the plastic bags are so thin.
giant seems to have lost its attractiveness...when it first started, prices were cheaper...I dislike the smell when I step into giant.

daughter loves the self-checkout counter at ntuc jem. she will scan and put the items in the plastic bag when I've paid. it is rather fun actually.

I heard that Giant IMM caters for the Indian foreign workers n over the weekends, the supermarket is swarmed with them.

My dd is just like yours - she also find it fun to self checkout, especially the scanning part.

I'm still confused by the self checkout after so long.

Will use it and then ask for help everytime at payment stage

Dislike the self checkout at giant.
Quite a pro at ntuc though...but daughter doesn't allow me to scan. So I just put basket on the stand and she does everything. People around us usually wonder how come this mother just stands there while daughter does everything....just short of making payment.
Oh yes, she also enjoys weighing the fruit/vegetable...so we do spend quite a bit of time at the supermarket.
