2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take
-
Am trying to choose between St Hilda’s and Poi Ching, I am within 1km for both schools.
Can anyone enlighten me the past records of the registration vs application under Phase 2C for St Hilda’s?
Totally stressed! -
Aiyoh, noone reply you. You need to access the link to the balloting history. Found on the home page at the bottom.
Poi Ching and St Hilda’s are both very popular. I know of parents who moved but were balloted out under phase 2C St Hilda’s. If you check out the history, both confirm need to ballot under phase 2C. Maybe you try and see if you can PV at Poi Ching? There’s no balloting for Poi Ching so far under phase 2B. If I’m you i will get a couple of schools for plan B. A school that you can confirm get a place in under phase 2C supp.
I understand your stress. I’m feeling the heat too man. -

Aiyoh, also noone reply you. St Nicks 2B very tough also. Did you see the balloting history? Any catholic can try their luck with St Nicks too as long as they reside within 1km of the school. Anderson is also a popular school, also need balloting under phase 2C for SC within 1km. Maybe see if you can try to get a place in Anderson under 2B. Odds are really slim for St Nicks, whether it's 2B or 2C. I can't remember if i'm right but i think St Nicks doesn't accept PV. But what the heck, you can just call and enquire? Do you have any school in mind if you end up in phase 2C supp?Hi, I'm a silent reader for some time.. very lost and vexed.. Hope to get advice from parents here..
I live within 1km from both CHIJ St Nicholas and Anderson. Intended to apply for PV at St Nicholas but heard chances of getting in is slim and when that happens, I might get nowhere.
I thought if I failed 2B phase with St Nicholas, I could try my luck with Anderson at 2C phase. Am I wrong? What should I do? -
Hi all,
I chance upon this thread and realise it is for me too! I have a boy who is borned in year 2010. I am wondering if to do PV for West Grove or West Wood Primary school. Both are within 1km from where I leave.
Can anyone advise me should I do PV since I am within 1km? And which school is better? -
Westwood is the newer school right? I think both Westwood and West Grove conducted balloting for SC within 1km in phase 2C this year. I know West Grove has started accepting PV applications for 2010 kids liao. Not sure about Westwood.
-
Butterwaffles, yes, Westwood is the newer school. I heard Westwood has more CCAs. Oh so, there is balloting for SC within 1km in phase 2C this year for both the schools… meaning I should do PV to be safer…?
-
Provided you are selected for PV? I’m not sure if Westwood conducts interviews. stressed Do you have a backup school if you fail balloting in phase 2C?
-
I know West Grove conducts interview for PV. For West Wood, it is stated in their website that there will be a selection process as well for PV. Really stressed. I have no back up plans. My gut feeling is to go for West Grove as the school is more established.
Butterwaffles, you also stay in the Jurong West area? -
Pros and cons really. I also listen to friends until i feel confused. Some say never go for schools that are too new because alot of stuff will be in the teething stage and the kids have no senior to look up to. Some say new ones are good, so that the teachers can concentrate on the new lot and the toilets are very clean LOL! Some prefer more established ones because everything is stablised already, the students are not guinea pigs, the school has a clearer direction etc. Yeah, i used to reside in Jurong West. Good to have a backup school, just in case. I’m cracking my head over the backup school too. I’ve never been lucky when it comes to balloting.

Butterwaffles, I think my back up will be WW. So will do PV for WG and hope to be selected for PV.
How can I tell if for the past years WG has balloting for phrase 2B?
How to check against the charts in the link below..? So confusing..
