Provided you are selected for PV? I’m not sure if Westwood conducts interviews. stressed Do you have a backup school if you fail balloting in phase 2C?

I know West Grove conducts interview for PV. For West Wood, it is stated in their website that there will be a selection process as well for PV. Really stressed. I have no back up plans. My gut feeling is to go for West Grove as the school is more established.

Pros and cons really. I also listen to friends until i feel confused. Some say never go for schools that are too new because alot of stuff will be in the teething stage and the kids have no senior to look up to. Some say new ones are good, so that the teachers can concentrate on the new lot and the toilets are very clean LOL! Some prefer more established ones because everything is stablised already, the students are not guinea pigs, the school has a clearer direction etc. Yeah, i used to reside in Jurong West. Good to have a backup school, just in case. I’m cracking my head over the backup school too. I’ve never been lucky when it comes to balloting.

Need to take some time to go through the legend. For West Grove, there was balloting conducted for phase 2B in year 2010 for SC within 1km. But after that no more. How do you know? You just refer to the legend. If no colour, means no balloting lor. There was balloting for Westwood in phase 2C for SC within 1km this year. It’s pretty popular too.

just to kaypo...if can do PV to increase your chance of entering your preferred school, plse do it. WG control the number of PVs selected since 2011. That's y no balloting for Phase 2B in recent yrs. Not sure if there will be any change now since there is going to be a new principal nxt yr.
Btw, your backup shld not be WW since WW will also need to ballot in Phase 2C for SC within 1km (based on history), same as WG for Phase 2C. If you cannot PV for WG (your preferred sch), then you will join Phase 2C for WG (unless you change your mind and want to register with WW). If you cannot get into WG for Phase 2C after balloting, then WW will also be full. Your backup sch shld be one where there is no balloting for SC within 1km for Phase 2C or one which still has vacancies after Phase 2C. Good luck

I want to ask about Phase 2A(2) registration. I understood that Min Xin Primary formerly merged with Yu Neng Primary. I was from Min Xin, can my child be eligible to register under Phase 2A(2)? What documents do I have to produce?
Is there a way to confirm that my child is definitely eligible for Phase 2A(2) or is it only during registration, then we know if eligible?

just happened to saw this thread.
my gal was in 2010 and going to P1 in 2017. trying to figure out which school to go since im also a Sengkang resident, off yio chu kang.
Rosyth within 2KM
Nan Chiau within 2KM
both above seems no chance to be a PV. even im selected PV, it is not guaranteed… backup plan is to look for catholic school since im a catholic, which most schools are more than 2KM.
Can I check if SNGS or Paya Lebar Methodist Girl school have any chance to register under 2B but i’m not within 1-2KM? -
Hello Wendy...Have you tried going through the balloting history? The link is on the homepage. After viewing the balloting history, you will know if you stand a chance with the schools that you've mentioned
