Somehow, branded bags are not for me; ok, I can’t afford them too.

Check out Rootote! Won't cause any dent in pocket.

I hardly fell in love at first sight (not even with branded bags) but one of Rootote's bags caught my eyes when I was just walking pass the bags section with no intention to shop earlier this week. I like that bag enough to stop briefly to browse for 2 mins. The lower than expected price tag was a pleasant surprise. Dh in a hurry at that time so I have yet to grab it. Definitely must return to buy that bag

Rootote is so reasonably priced at $50+. Can buy as many as you like to match your wardrobe.

            Same for me.

Same here. I'm also practical - I'm not the sort who can be bothered to molly-coddle my stuff, so I need a reasonably cheap, durable, doesn't-show-dirt bag that can be put on the floor if necessary, fingered by kids' grubby hands, wiped-off easily etc. I also don't like to change bags and transfer stuff from bag to bag, so I always go for an all-purpose bag in a boring, neutral colour. Presentable is all I ask for (so I'm not carrying a plastic bag!). So far, I don't think I've gone beyond $50.

Aiming to arrive before door opens for your favourite Coach Sale, babe? πŸ˜‰

I think Janet88 already swore off Coach πŸ˜‰

I once saw a petite lady with an MCM backpack with studs
sitting alone inside WestGate's Mac Donald's and i thought of you and MummyOnABudget. πŸ˜‰ The backpack was pretty an so was the lady. πŸ†’

can be put on the floor if necessary

Got germs le. If put on floor outside, cannot put on floor inside the house or on cabinet. Even if clean with wet wipes, still feel contaminated. I'm a little paranoid over this aspect πŸ˜‚

Transferring stuff can be done in less than 10 seconds πŸ˜‚ I just scoop everything and dump to the other bag. I generally go for earth colour too. Goes well with existing wardrobe.

OT: for bags, I think the carts in many shopping malls sell handbags at around <$30. I can use such a handbag for 2 years. So it is $15 for 365 days.

                  Quite a gd deal πŸ˜›

my bags cannot put on the floor...my butts will take a smaller space on the chair so that bag has space to sit on πŸ˜‰

as a SAHM with no AWS, MC or salary, my CFO rewards me with a bag...if ζ”ΏεΊœ want to hold election and decide to give GSS offset, then I have some pocket money.
transferring to another bag takes 10 seconds at most. then after that, clean the bag with cloth and put inside dust bag...very particular with my stuff. hubby didn't dare to use my bag when he went to US...afraid of being nagged if he scratched any stud.

Keke, my bag sits on my lap because I have to reach for my wet wipes or tissue ever so frequently
And then I drip all kind of sauce, miso soup, kuay chap, even cabbage from salad on it. All my handbags same fate, just wipe whatever I drip off la. Don't ask me why I so 邋遒. I merely don't like germs, don't quite mind soup or sauce πŸ˜†

if I put my bag on lap, I can't eat comfortably. usually I put a packet of tissue on the table so that anyone of us can grab a tissue easily.
