With streaming every year, there is no chance to take a breather. We are constantly kept on our toes.

I pity our kids the most as they keep losing their friends when streaming, esp if its their best friends

no issue for DS and his friends. Even though they were split into different class, they still play together during recess time, call each other after school and meet up online or at each other's home to play.

Oh.. Didnt know that. So the top class is 5i?

Yes, 5i is the top class, but followed closely by 5H. DS knows of a kid in 5H which has just 1 mark less than another student in 5I.

Can you share the mark of the kid that missed by 1 mark to enter 5l ? So can know how strong that class is? Thanks
The mark is 35x for 4 subjects... didn't want to share the specific mark as it can be quite sensitive to all students. DS also know of 2 students of the same marks but one is in 5H and another 5I - I am guessing there are more than 1 students with the same cutoff mark, so they have to make a choice based on other factors.

The most \"sparse-out\" allocation will be from P2 to P3 - after which the class allocations will not be dramatically different. From P3 to P4 and P4 to P5, there are at least 50% in DS class who continue onwards to the same class as him - so he still have many friends and get to make new friends.

From the grapevine, the top scorer in P4 mainstream is the only student with a >380 overall score. Purely from the grapevine. Maybe that can be a target to work towards instead. Mine is not near :nailbite:
Yes, heard the top scorer is a very diligent girl in P4I - congrats to her and jiayou to our kids πŸ™‚

                from the grapevine ... πŸ˜‰
                top 3 classes for P5: 5i, 5H, 5G
                top 4 classes for P6: (with HCL) 6i, 6H, (without HCL) 6E, 6F

anybody can verify info for p6?
Just to check, I remember 2014 4A and 4I were the top mainstream classes. You mean all the good ones from 4A moved to 5I, H and G?

                    Hi hi,

My son will be transferred to Tao Nan next year and I just received a call from the school that he will be going to Class 2B. Wondering if there are any 2B parents here who can plug me into the class chat group pls. Pls PM me so that I can give you my hp no. TIA!

In TNS, the psg did a PCR (PARENT CLASS REP) programme and it was successful. The pcr is like the main contact person between teacher / school and thr class parents. We all hv a whatsapp group chat that connects and let parents know whats being done or needs attention in school/class.. there is a pcr from 1B/2014, the same pcr shld already hv the parents in the whatsapp group chat. Like my girls class, our group chat will continue in p2 since the kids move from same p1 class to p2 i.e. 1B to 2B. So u might want to get the pcr contact the class form teacher by email once u have the form teacher name ( shld only be confirmd by 3rd wk dec). Otherwise, email the PSG and ask. The PSG has the pcr contact.

                    Good luck.

Thank you bluebelt.I will contact thr PSG for the contact. May I know what does our kid need to bring on 1st day of sch for p2 pls. Thanks.

Yes, P4A and P4I were the top mainstream classes. So in 2015, they compile all the mainstream p4 students and allocate the top to 5I, then 5H, etc. DS grapevine is that 21 students from P4I are going to P5I next year. slightly lower number for P4A. So will be very competitive for P5I next year.

Haha... cos most of his friends share all the information very openly and start calling each other after class allocation is out. Your DS is very good, very focussed. Actually, I will rather DS spend more time on his books than with his friends.
