haha... but my girl is \"strong\" headed yah... she did flared up @ the Tr as the Tr tired to correct the fingerings.... then my girl said she wanna change the Tr.... she has bring up this matter a few times..... I don't have any musical background to help her...
Haha, maybe can suggest to the teacher to use reward system instead? So, for every corrected fingering can earn a sticker or something? -
hmmmm… the Tr did bring up this reward system… but I see no "action" from the Tr yah… my girl was happy when the Tr said "improved" to her…
what level are kabalevsky (unsure of the spelling), bach’s invention? grade 3, 4? -
reiner:
Haha, just remind the teacher gently lar. Which Kabalevsky and Bach specifically? The difficulties range of the pieces in Kabalevsky's children pieces and Bach's Inventions are quite wide.hmmmm... the Tr did bring up this reward system... but I see no \"action\" from the Tr yah....
what level are kabalevsky (unsure of the spelling), bach's invention? grade 3, 4? -
hmmmm… unsure leh… need to check the music sheets…
maybe I shall take action instead bah… then pass the stickers to Tr to give my girl instead…

Kabalevsky op. 27 has pieces that can be played from grade 3-4 onwards. Some are more difficult though.... for example no. 29 (Cavalry) is a piece in grade 5 (2013-14) syllabus.hmmmm... the Tr did bring up this reward system... but I see no \"action\" from the Tr yah.... my girl was happy when the Tr said \"improved\" to her...

Bach's inventions are generally rated from grade 5-7. -

Save the stickers for yourself. Think of a reward system yourself - when she practises properly at home, Ask her if she felt that the piece went more smoothly with teacher's suggested fingers!hmmmm.... unsure leh.... need to check the music sheets....

reward her and say what a great job she did! -

Hi Sabrina
My sister is accepting new students now, and teaches in your area on Sundays. She is a higher-level music teacher specialized in the violin and piano, with licentiates for both these instruments, and has trained with renowned pianists and violinists. Do PM me if you would like more info
Getting started with the right teacher is always important, especially for a budding talent just starting out!
Cheers! -

Hi, I hv zero music background myself. Am looking for a piano teacher for my 9yo DD. Been recommended 2 teachers (both more than 15years teaching experience) and they quoted me S$80/lesson for 45mins for coming to my place in Bt Timah. Does it make sense to pay this fee for beginner level?
Do see my reply to Sabrina too
Cheers ladies!
