May I ask how are the classes being allocated? Is it according to the pupils’ PSLE marks?

Supposed to be random. Not so sure.
But for sure it is not by PSLE T Score or GEP/MS

Hi, anyone has taken French at MOELC and then switched to the in-house elective module? Any difference in teaching style and textbooks used?

Still considering whether the convenience and option to be included in the CAP and academic transcript is worth paying $100/mth, quite a substantial amount when you add it up over 4 years!

Have to decide by 30 Dec, registration date at MOELC.

Can't really answer your qns directly. My DD has a Jap classmate who swap MOELC to in-house at Y3. But you can always try MOELC first. if DC is happy with french ? happy with MOELC arraignment ?(can compare with classmates doing in-house french) . Make the necessary choice and decision at each stage (y1-y4).

If DC can do well in 3rd Lang, take the reward as possible boost (if necessary) to CAP. If DC can still make it after 4 years french class (MOELC or in-house), congratulations , DC has gained a foreign language mastery. The reward is a boost in DC's future career and anything associated with french language and culture.

Look beyond the $. Time and effort cannot be replaced by $. 😄

Will let ds try MOELC first and see how he copes with the travelling. 😄

May I ask if there are strict restrictions on the use of mobile phones imposed by the school?

To what I know, the school treats students as adult as far as usage of mobile phone are concerned. When not to use ? when need to be in silent mode ? Anything in violation of basic courtesy and principle of school rules, I believe it may be confiscated for a while. So far I have not heard of anyone ban or bar from using mphone within the school premise.
