Anglo-Chinese School (Independent)

I called the school. They said appeal only applicable for express.
Thank you for all your advices. Very helpful. -
thinking mum:
Acsi IB does not permit appeal. Only for Express.
Yes, that is right. However, lateral transfer can occur later if the student shows promise.
The chances of a student entering ACSI's IBDP programme in Year 5 from another IP school are slim, but the same things apply — acad performance equivalent to a 6-pointer, broad range of achievements and/or talents etc. It's rare now especially because IP schools try not to accept transfers from other IP schools. -
Hi parents
My ds will be joining asci (ib) next year.
He will be taking HCL and correct me, if i am wrong,HCL could be drop after y4 exams and they will be offered to do a 3rd Lang.
So what happens if he has already taken the moe offer to do a 3rd lang from y1? -

If he is doing an MOE 3rd Language, the only effect it has on his choice of compulsory Group 2 language for the IB Diploma is that he can't take the same language as his Group 2 language.
For example, let's say he's doing German as his 3rd Language. He still has to do an IB 2nd language. He can't do his HMT, since he is already overexposed in that language. He can't do German ab initio either, since he already has exposure. However, he can now do any language he wants apart from those. This will give him a total of at least 4 languages when he graduates, which will enhance his global competitiveness...

Thank you for your explanation, much clearer now. So maybe DS should drop his 3rd lang and concentrate on his IB program instead.

Hello parents,
May I know how much to set aside every month for my ds apart from his monthly school fee of $280 + $45 ?
Ds will be in sec 1 - express.
Also, how much is your ds' daily allowance? Days with cca and days without.
Working on my next year's budget now.
Thank you! -
