Hihi! My boy will be going to P1 next year.

I just received a letter from the school informing us that there is a change in naming and reassignment of shoelaces His is in 1F ==> now 1M. After a quick check in this tread do I know what the alphabets stands for (RADINMAS). His house got changed to.

Some questions to ask, anybody buy school shoes from school? The vendor is selling @ $15. Is it good? (As in does it spoils easliy after a few months?) shoel type or those velcro type better.

School bag? What size is suitable for P1? How much stuffs do P1 have to bring to school everyday?

How much pocket money is appropriate? Back in my days @ rmps, I can get food @$0.30. 😓

      Thanks all in advance!

        Welcome to the school.
Probably the school has decided to standardise the naming of the classes across the levels. In the past, Primary 1 and Primary 2 have classes from A to H and the pupils will stay in the same class these two years. When they are promoted to Primary 3, the class assignment will be based on their Primary 2 results. From Primary 3 onwards, naming of classes is based on the letters of school name \"RADIN MAS\".

So far my kids have not bought shoes from the school vendor. They wore velcro type of shoes when they were at P1 or P2.

As for school bags, they use those ergonomic schoo bags like SPI. Although some teachers allow them to leave some books in the classroom, there are days when they have to bring all the files back home for parents to sign. IMHO, a size similar to SPI small size school bag is good enough. However, we have to remind them to pack their school bags every day.

They don't have to bring all books to the school on the first day of school. It will be orientation week anyway. Just bring a few exercise books, core subject workbooks in case the teachers want to collect them.

As for pocket money, it depends on whether your child is going to bring packed food to school. According to my kids, one plate of rice costs $1 at least, and one bowl of noodles costs $0.80 at least. One packet of drink costs $0.50, one bottle of drink costs $1.

        Hope this helps.

P1 orientation programme is out on the school website. Orientation will take place on the first 3 days (ie 2nd, 5th and 6th Jan).

Hi…anyone heard about the violin class conducted at Radin Mas? Any feedback from parents or students here whether it’s good? Cause I’m considering to sign up my child.

                        Hi,

My son is currently in P2. Can parents share if there is really streaming at P2 to P3? If yes, what is the basis? I heard there are 2 best classes in P3…is it true?

Appreciate some enlightment on this. Thank you.
