Year 4 Rafflesian here! I think what you want to allow your child to eat will affect the pocket money you're willing to give. Canteen food is upwards of $2, usually under $3. For reference, one plate of caipng with egg, 1 veg, 1 meat is $2.10. Most of the food around that price. Theres two days in school that are 'long days' which have two recess each, so plan accordingly. During my time as a Year 1, we went out to J8/S11 about once or twice a week, usually with 1/3 of the class, so you might want to consider that too.

DS stays back in school until 6-7 pm 4 times a week. That means he has to have lunch in school. If your DS is staying back in school many days in a week, please take that into consideration. So, it will be recess + lunch money.

^ Yes definitely take CCA days into consideration. They’re usually on Mon, Wed, Fri for most CCAs. ‘long days’ are Monday and Wednesday for reference.

I understand that the EESIS for subsequent years will be dependent on "make good progress each year in order to continue receiving the scholarship." (according to MOE website.)

Hmm, from your \"can liao\", GPA 3 = try to get at least 65% for most tests/assessments/exams = basically attainable as long as study?!

son is not the very very high PSLE score type, and was a little lazy at Pr level.

think I got to 'confiscate' his coming CNY angbao money just in case .

Of course must aim higher lor. Ideally 3.6 and up would be nice (basically gets you a shot at all the different programmes: Raffles Academy and other stuff)
