Where are the Year-3 boys going next week, since there's no OBS this year ? Is 'Malaysia Montage' still on for the Year-2s ?

Its a pity that the Year-3s do not get the chance to attend OBS this year. I recall DS1 came home from OBS (last year) with bruises on his hands & legs, and he looked so exhausted, but he enjoyed himself tremendously. He said OBS was very tough but very fun !

They should book an alternative time slot for the batch bonding though it may not be the ideal first week of the year.

How could the persons-in-charge have forgotten to book early? Thot they've been doing this for years ?

Cannot be due to budget cut. OBS is not costly, compared to other overseas programs.. šŸ˜“
Something like how could they always get the same date/time slot every year ??!! No they didn't forget to book. They were not allowed to book .....

Not allowed to book the same date/time? Is it only RI affected?

Hi RafflesianSnr, can I check with you is it very difficult to get into the String CCA? two times a week or three times a week for practice?

Think they want experience. Not sure. There will be a CCA exhibition event on 23rd Jan (if I recall correctly), so save it for then.

I think its 3 times a week practice.

Three or more times a week before competition.

Go for auditions and put them as first choice is that's what you want.

Hi YY1205. I am not RafflesianSnr but just happened that DS had experience in String CCA audition. DS didn't have any experience at all in string instrument and Chinese Orchestra but was offered both CCAs. He has piano background. During the String CCA audition, he was asked to play piano (any piece, no score sheet) and had some aural questions and other questions.

I don't think there is core CCA in RI that doesn't need a lot of commitment. In fact, I think performing arts and UGs should be renamed as competitive performing arts and competitive uniform groups, just like competitive sports. šŸ˜‰
