Oh, if you ate registering w Aedge Holdings PL Bus Service Provider

      Fyi, service is not professional.

extremely expensive within 1km $117,pick up point only at their convenient, fare inclusive GST & rude bus driver and co-ordinator.

Worst experience ever encounter w Aedge Holdings.

      avoid if possible.

I couldn't agree more. I do not know what is the school management doing. Changing transportation company every year is real stressful for the patents. Students arriving home 1 hour plus after the school ends. Bus company gets more disorganized with every change. This reflects real badly on the school image.

      Dear All,
Please understand that there will be changes in vendors from time to time and this is beyond the control of the school. The situation is the same in all schools.
Please log onto MConline to discuss this directly with the school.

Thank you WPS Teachers, Staff and PSG for making the first day of school a memorable one.

However, the 2nd day of school is a little bit confusing for my son at least. I understood that we had to leave our child at the gate and enter the school premise on his own. He was very reluctant but the security officer was very kind to allow me to accompany him to the canteen.

My son was sitting on his own when I left, waiting for flag raising to commence. There were children sitting on the canteen floor and some on the benches. As such, I am unsure of what is the routine upon arrival in school.

If someone can share on this as I wish to better prepare my child on school routine.

        Thanks in advance all!

        Hi Nahmad,
welcome to the West Spring Family. 😄
All parents/guardians are to say goodbye to their child at the side gate. The same applies to all schools as this is for security and safety reasons.

I assure you that your son will soon adjust and will be fine walking in on his own. My advice would be for you to talk to him at home and let him know what will happen each morning. 😄

Once at the gate, give him a hug and wave him goodbye and try not to feel anxious.

School reporting time is at 0740. Some students arrive early and are in the canteen having a snack. When the students enter the school, they need to use the finger print scanner to register their attendance for the day. The students will then make their way to the parade square or to the hall and wait in the class group until assembly starts at 0740.The students will do silent reading in the hall or parade square until assembly starts. There will be staff and teachers around to help and to guide the students either to the hall or the parade square.

Primary 1 can be an anxious time for the child and the second day of school can be equally anxious. Rest assured that your child is in good hands at West Spring. Just remember to tell your child that you will say goodbye at the gate.

I will always be on this forum if you had any other questions but please do log onto mconline as well. The mconline website is a direct way to ask the school questions and to share your views and opinions with the school. If you were to have any urgent enquiries, please telephone the school.

Once again, I am sure your child will soon adjust with his new school life.

        :thankyou:

        Hi,

Thank you for the advice. The transition today for my child was a smooth one. From his feedback, he enjoyed school and was even making friends and playing together. He now looks forward to school to meet his new mates!

I hope it's the same for all WPS kids!

          Hi,

On the first day of school, parent are given the time table and a list of work books and files to be hand over to teacher on the following Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. But I realise that not all work books and file have been handed over to teacher and I wonder to let my child to continuous bringing the balance work book which suppose to hand over today to school the next day (having the same subject on next day) with the other set of workbooks that need to hand over on Tueday. The school bag is getting heavier. Please advice.
          Thanks
          Hi,

So far there are no issues on this for my child. All the books that are supposed to be handed to the teacher(s) were given.
If I may suggest you ask your child if the teacher had requested for the books to be handed to him/her.
It can be confusing for a child (especially mine). I have to remind him over again on his routine and what to do or expect as he is kind of a dreamer sometimes.
Hope all will be well for your child.
          😄

What's the point? At least here we can share our grouses/compliments among the parents. Sure, compliments are nice and reflect well for the school but feedback is also necessary for the benefit of all since our children will be studying at west spring for the next 5 or 6 years. It's true that vendors are changed from time to time but a change of vendors plus a 50% increase in prices? As consumers, we expect to get better services in return for an increase in prices... but sadly this is not true for our school bus transport situation in west spring. I take back my words in my earlier posting... I wish west spring changes the bus company next year...it couldn't and shouldn't get any worse... will it?

                  Hi Keane16,
the school has repeatedly informed parents that they will make an effort to reply to queries/concerns posted within 3 working days and have done so. Even before the school was open last year, they had communicated with parents via kiasu forum. Perhaps more than any other school, West Spring Primary School has updated parents regularly on this forum and on their school website. They have recently introduced the parents discussion forum on MCONLINE. This is so that parents/guardians can communicate directly with them. Please understand that they are doing their very best to reply within 3 working days.

                  To All Kiasu forum members,
Kiasu forum is a great tool for parents to ask questions and to communicate with one another. However, I don't think that it is good that this forum should be used to constantly criticize the school. If you feel strongly about something, I would suggest that you telephone the school directly to make an appointment to discuss the issue that you would like to raise. Let us all remember that new parents and potential parents will be reading this forum and it will hurt the school's image if there are continuous negative comments about the school.

I hope that you understand that we, Parents and The School, are trying very hard to promote West Spring Primary. The school management have done an exceptionally good job in communicating with parents. Please do allow them a chance to respond before venting out your frustration online.

                  Thanks All

Being able to handle nagetive feedback with an open attitude serves as a better public image than being anti-democratic. There will be issues here and there for every school. The key is how to deal with them not how to hide them from public. We should talk about two sides of a coin. Maybe as Kiasuparents we tend to complain and nag more about issues that make us concerned. But I expect to see the school take every compaint as an oppertunity to improve and a good image is a sure thing to follow up with their effort automatically.

                        Dear Parents and Guardians,

As mentioned during the recent P2 Parents’ Briefings, to allow for up to 3 working days for your queries to be replied. There are many other duties that the admin staff have to attend to each day. Hence, in line with the civil service standards, it’ll be up to 3 working days. We seek your understanding on this matter.

Alternatively, fellow parents in our West Spring family may help to answer some of the general queries as well. It’s important for all of us in the West Spring family to try help one another out where possible.

Thus far, we’re grateful to the vast majority of our parents who’d been very understanding and supportive of school matters. Good job! Keep it Up!

It really makes our day to have so many appreciative parents with us, who truly understand the challenges that we face as well at times as we strive to provide the best holistic education for your children.

The school always makes an effort to provide the best level of support to parents possible. However, it must be noted that there’re also many things that involve external factors as well, which are beyond the control of the school.

We look forward to your continued support and understanding in 2015! :please:
