Hi,

Thanks! I find that the school is spending too much time on the HM program or is it only dd's class. All the work I see is only on the HM w/s. Really very worrying.chasingjelly:
What is the oral format like for P1s? Seems like dd's class is really not prepared for anything at all. Still very much in the honeymoon period. No test no nothing!
last yr, the p1 were given a very short story to read, with a few pictures...the teacher will let them try reading a sample story nearer to the oral date... u can check with your child form teacher if u want to clarify more...

I heard that a teacher of a top school called up one of the mummy while her p1 dd was only 1 week in the school and said that she need to send the kid to I Can Read tuition center as her daughter cannot read..(something like that)... I am happy the MBS does not practise that as according to my dd, last yr p1, those students who are poor in English or cannot read were send for remedial and this remedial course is planned for those students to be able to catch up with the rest..

Yes I agree. So far for the teachers that my kids encounter, if the kids have a problem, they will have remedial lessons to coach the kids. I've never heard of any teacher telling parents that, you need to send the kids for this and that lesson outside the school. That should be the teacher's job to teach right??? So far MBS teachers are really dedicated in that aspect. -

when they go p3, the children will be reallocated to different class right? So now, in p3, there is only one top class still? :?vlim:

Can someone share some tips on how to prepare the kids for the above subject, please. Thank you.
