Other than Languages, it is near impossible to find tuition centres or teachers for the rest of the subjects as Hwa Chong, like other IP schools has a IP syllabus, so most tuition centres or tuitors will not be familiar with their syllabus so if you go to any of those, they might not be able to teach according to the Hwa Chong syllabus.

for specific subjects if help is needed, it has to be personal coaching instead of tuition class - as in the normal tuition centre

for sec school a lot will depend on the kids' self learning and time management. initial period may need help through personal coaching for weak subject - but if they are in HCI or RI, they shouldn't be that weak either

oh my, its a really prestigious course in my school and it only starts in sec 3?

According to the school, this IP batch did very well though one of the top HCI students was from the O level stream.


My son went thru 4 years in HCI and am in JC now, let me share something with parents, the IP programme is actually much more rigourous than the O level programme!

They are tested very frequently, so they are always preparing for the next test!

But they also play very hard, the school make sure they also have fun during sabbaticals, do the things they like, give themselves a break and just have plain fun!

And one thing they have over the O level programme, Project Work. They have already done lots of projects in year 1-4, so Project work is a breeze for them in JC!

don't think they officially call them as\"Bicep\" in primary school....but the school tracks the students on this area

and yes,in HCI it starts at Sec 3 for selected / qualifying students only ...again the school tracks them

It is called BSP, Bicultural Studies Programme.


This programme started in 2005 with Chinese High (Hwa Chong), Nanyang Girls High School and Dunman High School being the pioneer schools offering this programme.

MOE offers a scholarship for this programme that starts in Sec 3 and ends in J2.

The students spends alotof time in China and the US & UK to understand the cultures fo these countries.
