Both my daughters are in 1F. I have viewed their handbook and time table. Basically everyday there are English, Chinese and Math so I assume that they will have to bring all the books to school everyday. Their schoolbags are much lighter these days as some of the books are left in school.

Dear All,
I know ths sounds rather pre-sumptous..but can anyone advice which secondary school do the graduates of the YZ go to typically since there is no affliated secondary school?
Im actually aiming for DS to enter YZ and thus hoping to buy a place in Serangoon, however, am at the same time torn between the fact that having a Sec School affliation may be a safer bet like KCPP --> KCSS. this decision currently hampers the property purchasing decision as well :frustrated:
Anyone has any thoughts? most appreciate.
Thanks!

Hi, My boy is in 1E too.
My son's name is Kaiwen.. He is also blur whenever i asked about his school time. I think they haven't done so much so far for the new week. I have to guess everyday what are the books they are supposed to carry for the next day. The pupil's handbook has not much info. How do you manage that? Does your boy tell you what needs to be bring for the next day?
Oh, Ryan will tell me what to bring the next day. But still a bit clueless as I got 2 others running about in nursery and home.
Oh Kaiwen. My son's BFF :)) according to his introduction sheet. My son is Ryan Stopel. Ryan says your son is taller then him which is not an easy feat.
Hi Ryan's mom, I also saw your son's name appear on the introduction sheet.
Yes, my son is quite tall. More than 1.32m now and I guess he might be the tallest in the P1 batch. I hope he will not be sent later on for the additional exercise to lose some weight as he is heavier comparing to other kids.
After these first 2 weeks, now the boy can manage to prepare for the books or stuff to be brought for the next day. I can tell he is getting to enjoy the school time.
I specially like the school story time every morning that the kid must bring one book to read during that session. My boy completed alot books in the last 2 weeks. That is very good to see the school put efforts to cultivate this good habit.
How about your son? -

Phase 2A(1) if you had joined alumni club ( if there is one) and phase 2A(2) if you did not. Not much difference between the 2 phases though. -

My boy is also in 1D. So far so good.

Hi Liuk73,
I believe it is the chinese worksheets that we had bought last yr when we buy all the books.
I have also checked, lessons had started normally now.
I think children replied no lessons cause they already know the subjects.
So far in these 2 weeks lessons, I check n verified with my girl they are learning alphabet, numbers and chinese characters. Class 1D just started their spelling yesterday for every Tuesday. :boogie:
In the diary, there is a timetable, for 1D class, they are havin Maths for 4 days a week except for Wednesday
Class 1D have ENGLISH and MOTHER TONGUE everyday.
Coming Friday, class 1D will need angbao and staples for tgeir art class.
For other classes, I think it is different.
Every Wed is PAL day, in which minimum 2 classes will combine together for some games or sports activities.
Thus far, my girl is enjoying her school sessions very well.
How about the rest?
So far I know there r no bring home homework for class 1D -

Hi sapphire09,
There is no compulsory to join the alumin club.
As a ex-student, you are already eligible for the phase 2A2.
If you wish to register using grandparents address, you would need to make Statutory Declaration with the MOE. The declaration period which normally last a month will begins when the Primary 1 registration starts.
You can use the follow MOE URL to find out more information.

Hi Michelle,
Every year, there will be a few of the higher scorers going to RI, NUS High, Cedar Girls, RGS, Catholic High, Anderson. The majority will progress on to the nearby schs like Zhonghua, PLMGS, St Gabriels, Bowen, Yuying etc.
KCPPS and KCPSS are pretty average schools academically-speaking so doesn't really make a difference. Unless you are aiming at a pri sch with an affiliated sec sch that is very strong academically, then perhaps it makes alot of difference.
And if you feel that it will make your child's life easier and less stressful if you go for a sch with affiliation, by all means, go ahead:)
