If I remember correctly AHS is affiliated with SAJC....
I don't have their last year detailed results , but friend of mine whose dd took 2014 O level told me her dd's class (not the top classes) L1R5 is about 10.8, and the principle said many subjects got the best result since 2005. Keep in mind that AHS was already a band 1 school in 2012, the final year banding info can be released....

      Band 1? Wow. :rahrah: :boogie:

Where can I get school band information?

Banding already stop since 2012. So there is no way to know the banding now. If overall L1R5 < 11, it's still band 1 :rahrah:

From my DS, was told that last yr results is better than the year before. The worst subject is Chemistry with MSG 2.8. The best he heard is E Maths with MSG 1.8, A Maths MSG 2.0 ... the rest he's not sure. (I also not sure if he listen correctly ... so pls take it as a reference only)
      Yes, AHS affiliated to SAJC.

Points that allowed you to deduct from O lvl :-
HMT - 2 pts if pass
CCA - 2 pts if get A, else is 1 pt only.
      SAJC - 2 pts - affiliation
Higher Music - 2 pts if pass (not many students knows about this) 😂 And this grades can replace a humanity subject too. Last yr all higher music students score A1 for it.

** Bear in mind that JC cap the deduction at 4 pts !

this happens in all sec school, including elite schools.
by the time you are in sec school, they expect u to represent the school for competition immediately. Not as training ground anymore.
This training should be in pri school. When it comes to sec, is the cca that choose u not the other way round.

this is sad but this is life.

Agreed with VJA. That's true. That's why when you choose cca in P3/4 you have to even make sure that it is the cca that you can DSA into those school you want :siao:
By the time all the P6 DSA students gets their cca , not much places left for the new Sec 1 to choose. And what is left is uniform groups :frustrated:

Could someone pls advise if it’s true that no point is awarded for Robotic CCA? My boy was in Robotic CCA in his Primary and he likes it. But he was told by a CCA teacher in AHS yesterday that there will be no point awarded for Robotic CCA and persuaded him to join Choir…

Could someone shed some light please?

But some how i feel not comfortable with their autition.

who is the one that Making d decision for d audition?
Is it instructor, teachers or senior?

I think some of d kids have been inform by the senior
that they must make up d decision immediately after d
audition once d instructor confirm them. Else there will
be no secure vacant if u decided d next day. So they decided to join.
But after few days, d kid was been informed that
                      he has been rejected…

Tis is what happen to my kid n few of his friends…
they r demoralising by agree to have a place for d cca but
after that being rejected. They feel like a fool…

I can feel you & your child pain. If you are not happy go and see the CCA HOD and the Principal desk and bang table. It's no point to sit at home on the keyboard and complaint. Nobody owe anyone anything in this society. It's either you voice out and see your complaint get it thru and let your displeasure be known. That's how you get things done. Either you stand up and voice your complaint or just suck it up and be a slave dog for life.

If you think it's a waste of time to talk to the school head, just lodge a complaint to MOE and I can tell you that your kid will be reinvited in a red carpet and welcome to join the CCA he was once rejected. Complaint it's one of our Sporean past habit and if no complaint is made, nothing can get done and the normal routine resume.

I ever have a chance to visit the school during one of the open house and all the teacher look old and haggard to me and if you dun kick them up to wakeup their idea, things will remain as it is.
