Correction only 3 dc pass n accel to year2
I think the diagnostic tests are not easy, since they include topics such as Matrix, etc, so for students who are not exposure to such topics, they may not even pass the tests.dyh:
As far as I know, last year's year1 only had 2 students accel to year 2 and 1 student accel to year 3.
1dc accel to year3 -

To date, the greatest /furthest acceleration for any NUSH student (subject wise) was in 2011 batch. The Hong Kong teenager in Y1 diagnostic accelerate to Y5 Maths (top Y5 math that year) and Y4 Physics respectively. He completed his Y2 in NUSH and became a "drop out" . He was accepted by Hong Kong university at the age of 15.

Being knowledgeable is one thing, dropout n enter university at a young age is that a wise move for the dc.it takes some thinking? We want our dc to be happy n confidence in life most of all age related expenence as they grow older -
Does anyone know which day is Debate club CCA?

May I check which year can we have a second CCA ? I was told Year 1s can only take 1 CCA. Thanks !

RAY142:
It was both a push and pull factor that caused the boy to \"dropout\". Singapore had lost a true foreign talent. Though few years younger than his peers in the uni, he is doing well, well enough to be able to lead a project team when he first entered the uni. That speaks volume of his confidence.matadorepy:

DS1 told me can take up another CCA in year 2 but today, DS2 came back and told me it's only starting from year 5 then they are allowed to take 2 CCA, much to his disappointment as he is really keen on the other CCA. He wants me to check for him if it's true only from year 5. -
HCI, NUS High win inaugural science research poster competition
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/sin ... 05756.html
SINGAPORE: Teams from Hwa Chong Institution and NUS High School of Math and Science both won an inaugural science research poster competition on Wednesday (Jan 21), which was judged by Nobel Laureates.
The research poster by Hwa Chong Institution was about investigating the properties of a passionflower as antioxidants to potentially fight cancer, while the poster by NUS High looked at paintable energy storing devices.
The poster competition was part of the 7th International Science Youth Forum.
Organised by the Hwa Chong Institution and Nanyang Technological University, 150 students had their research posters judged by scientists from the Agency for Science, Technology and Research in the first round, which was held on Tuesday, and Nobel Laureates in the finals, held on Wednesday.
Judges looked at students' data collection, design of the poster and whether the project had clear objectives.
The same NUSH team won the 3M Young Scientists Award at last year SMP/YSC 2014.
