          Alexjune,

          If I’m not wrong,
          1. ICR 's reading prog is 1 year but Lcentral is 9 months.
          2. ICR’s weekdays fees are slightly higher than Lcentral. But Lcentral has higher weekend rate.

Other than that, I think they are similar.
Suggest you to do assessment with both centres tat near your house then decide.

Which programme is good? Pls pm me if possible. 🙂

              Alexjune,

Really? Lcentral’s fee is more ex in weekend n weekday!!! Oopss

I think their programs are quite similar! its more about teachers.
But 3.2 years old, i m thinking u can teach your kid the letters sound or let him watch the leapfrog letters sound! U can save a bit of $$$$.

Lcentral doesnt go by age. They go by the level tt ur child is already at, so there will be an assesement to see which level ur child is at.

Other then phonics they are also doing sight words. Which of course u can google to find and teach urself if u want to.
Lcentral basics is an english course with u can teach urself if u have the time, and ur child can learn with you.
For me, my child can do activities with me but when it comes to learning she absorbs better when someone else is teaching her.

Any reviews for holland branch? Any referral for holland branch? Please pm me thanks

My two kids at LCentral Holland branch. Friendly teachers.

My 3 year old boy started last term at their Foundation class. And he is able to tell me first sounds of some words. Am so glad with his progress.

My 5 year old girl is with LCentral for 3 terms. She attended foundation class for a term and promoted to LaunchPad. Now she is able to speed pronounce first sounds of A to Z within 15 seconds. Amazing! She is now learning last sounds, middle sounds, segmenting and sight words. Can't wait for her to start the LCentral LiftOff Programme.

I saw a few 4 years old kids taking the LiftOff programme. My regret is that I should have started my kids earlier for their reading programmes.

My kiasu mummy friend told me the difference. She researched in details the difference of LCentral and ICR. LCentral is better than ICR with 'word attack skill'. LCentral reading programme teach more sight words which aid the kids to read faster rather than the need to blend 'high frequency' words when reading. For ICR, the kids have to learn reading with the marks above the words like those words you see in dictionary. After they learn to read the markings with the words, the kids have to learn to read the words without the markings above the words. It's like learning extra thing and to forget them. Extra step.

My son's teacher is Teacher Aisling for Foundation Class at Holland branch and my girl's teacher is Teacher Rita for LaunchPad Class. They are very friendly teachers. Teacher Stephen taught my girl for a term before I switched timing. He is very cute and nice teacher as well. I always see him playing/joking with my children.
