      Jennifer:
My boy brought back the Module information booklet today.

There is a brief write-up on IVP on page 17.
Thanks! Indeed it is quite brief... 😉

I'm surprised that NJC opens up this IvP to JH1s, as most other schools typically offer it to only Sec 2 students.

I am comparing the JH module information booklet recd recently with a copy recd in 2014.

One noticeable change is the semester report format.
          2015 page 3 vs 2014 page 3

Previously each grade has a grade value and interim results r given a GPA calculated based on no. of credits, modular grade value and % assessed.

Now interim semester reports only marks. Overall year reports scores and means.

Page 3 states: overall scores, overall subject scores.

What is the difference between these?

I supposed we won’t b seeing a semester GPA and its percentile on the interim report anymore.

            Promotion criteria:

2014: a year GPA of at least 2.0

            2015: page 4.

I think there is an error on page 10: subject content of IS102 is exactly the same as IS201.

Yap my girl briefly told me. Does it mean now all the subjects have the same weightage? ART and MUSIC become an important subject too? 😓

Page 4 states all subjects r given equal weightage.

                    8 subjects should refer to:
                    LA
                    TK
                    MT
                    MA
                    IS
                    Humanities
                    GS
                    GAP - Arts and Music

Promotion criteria is overall score 50% with :
Pass in LA and 6 others subjects, or
                    Pass in 8 subjects.

If really no aptitude in Arts and Music, as long as meet the first criteria would still be promoted to the next level.

So GE, HI are 50% each of Humanities, and GAP (Arts), GAP (Music) are also 50% each of GAP? So those taking AEP/MP would be counted as their 9th subject? And those taking AEP would have GAP (Music) as 100% of GAP and MP would have GAP (Arts) 100% of GAP (they are exempted from GAP Arts and GAP Music respectively…)?

What time will NJC end their lesson on Wednesday? It is as per time-table? Or will end early?
