Hi QMS,
Everyday you pick up your boy after school? Able to find a lot waiting during dismissal time? Can see the whole line of quene sometime extended up to the way of traffic junction of Lower Delta Road. -
Hi all,
Since all of our children are in the diff classes, care to share about the homework load? My girl doesn't have much of homework, maybe twice a week, what about your kids?
Also, I have been thinking - from the time-table, there are about 7 sessions for Maths, but 17 for English (includes creative EL)?? :? -

Hi titank!
Yes, I pick up my boy after school everyday. However, I do not drive. Hence, the long queue doesn't bother me. However, it is a common scene to see cars blocking the pedastrian way, especially at the traffic light of Bt Purmei Ave. Really makes me mad. :x These people - should just fine them. Why park there, of all the places? It's not as if the carpark is very far.
:rubhands: :torchme: :heresmyfish:
When I send my son to school on Friday morning, yes, the traffic is horrendous. Luckily, there is another way to reach Bt Purmei Ave from our place, in addition to Lower Delta Rd. -

Well, at least your girl has homework about twice a week. My boy sometimes did not have homework for weeks!
On the other hand, I understand that so far, sometimes, these homework were due to the fact that they couldn't finish their assignment in class. In a way, you hope that they won't have homework, because having homework means they are slow in class, right?
Just my humble opinion.blue-march:
Titank raised this issue before. I thought the school would focus more on the language at this stage, and hence, more time has been allocated to languages? :?Also, I have been thinking - from the time-table, there are about 7 sessions for Maths, but 17 for English (includes creative EL)?? :?

I agree with QMS, that is also my understanding as well that whatever they cannot finish in class will be brought home to be completed as homework.
blue-march:
Yes, based on the sessions that I have attended , the school emphasize more on language building. They feel it is the building blocks for students to understand complicated worded mathematical problems when they reach P3 level. Also, I have been thinking - from the time-table, there are about 7 sessions for Maths, but 17 for English (includes creative EL)?? :?

Spoke to my sonโs form teacher yesterday about the PTM. She said she would not send any confirmation on the timing. Parents who have indicated they wanted to meet the teachers at particular time slots should go at that time slots. However, be prepared to wait if many parents had opted for one specific slot.
My sonโs teacher will only call up the parents to arrange for alternative time slot if she has say, more than 10 parents wanting to meet her at a particular time slot. -

My God! This system not good. All of us are actually working and taking time off. I will find out more from my son's form teacherSpoke to my son's form teacher yesterday about the PTM. qms, you referring to Ms Koh about the PTM? Serious she is not sending any confirmation? But if like that, quite messy? :? First come first serve? Which slot you going? Maybe we can bump into each other during the PTM?
My son also don't have a lot of homework however, every Fri, he will have 1 page of Stellar Writing.
titank, the traffic is very bad during dismissal time. I normally park at blk 108 carpark and on Fri, we rather stay over at my mum's place on Thurs night otherwise, my son will be late for school every fri as the jam can starts from Teresa Ville. -
Hi Jen!
jenchiow:
That's right!qms, you referring to Ms Koh about the PTM?
jenchiow:
Sounds like it.Serious she is not sending any confirmation?
jenchiow:
Looks like first come first serve. So, be prepared to wait even though you had chosen a particular time slot. But if like that, quite messy? :? First come first serve?
jenchiow:
Not possible, because my husband will be the one attending, not me. My son wanted his father to meet the teacher, not his mother.Which slot you going? Maybe we can bump into each other during the PTM?
Maybe because he thought I could see Ms Koh everyday, so why need to meet her again during the PTM?jenchiow:
Strange. :? My son doesn't have the Stellar Writing homework every week. Must check with him.My son also don't have a lot of homework however, every Fri, he will have 1 page of Stellar Writing.
