2015 PSLE Discussion and Strategies

My DD’s teachers told the girls don’t buy yet. School will go through the samples copies and decide which to order for the cohort. I think that should be the way !
Easier for the parents. -

DS got psle this year.. bu no tuition, no enrichment classes ( except for Chinese).. anyone same??? reading this thread really :yikes:
.. you think school 's works is not enough? can see the loads of hw they r having..still have time for tuition??? really :frustrated:
Mine has only English tuition and I don't think DD has time for any extra tuitions as there is still school enrichment classes going on. The hw has already taken much of her time and there is no time at all to give her any extra to do. -

There is no need to rush to buy immediately. Stocks will be replenished and it is not like the students will do immediately after the books were bought. I think releasing of PSLE exam papers just fuels kiasuism

What's the point of rushing to get hold of those PSLE exam papers?
For kids in p6 this year, syllabus is still not completed and schools will be getting in bulk for them later...for those not in p6, it doesn't make sense to do so either...so I agree with you TA...this madness basically fuels kiasuism further. If Hong Kong parents also join in the madness, printing 90,000 copies won't be sufficient. -

Mummies, no worry, PSLE is not that difficult as we thought, Especially Chinese. so dont be stress. just ensure your DC sleep well and have balance between school work and rest times. good luck! :imcool:jimmycathy:

That's the reason why there is insufficient stock...because parents of non-P6s are also buying. I would really like to take a look at science OE questions to check the 'trend'.
But I think having 2012-2015 would be a better gauge because English exam format is changed this year...with 2015, and past 3 years as comparison, we can see the differences.
Janet, 2012-2015 English - they did not give the original compre OE questions; instead, new compre OE style questions were given for practice. If I am not wrong, I also saw the three picture compo style of question ( I just took a brief look so correct me if I am wrong) for practice. -

There should be more than 1 publisher for the past year papers, just that they are not available yet. Should be soon though, seab's link below shows that 3 publishers are authorised to distribute them from Mid Feb 2015.
This year, it seems there is only one publisher, EPH.Nebbermind:
Alternatively, can exchange answer keys with friends who bought from other publishers.

Dd's school ordered the books for them last year but I do remember seeing EPH's Past Year Papers on the shelves first before SAP's Past Year Papers become available. -

Wow, EPH has first mover advantage! But this is unfair competition cos I think Popular owns EPH.

Any parents can advice from past experience, which publisher provides \"better\" solutions? Thanks! -
In fact I think knowing what type of questions will be coming out will make the bell curve move to the right even more, making it harder to score high (as in high aggregate score)… can have variable outcomes…
Seriously, if cannot even manage PSLE, how to manage life in future? -
janet88:
Actually the target number should be 40,000 X 6 years cos even P1 parents want to accumulate 10 years series of PSLE.

But now that I know there are 3 publishers, is there a need to rush to reserve EPH now without even taking a look at the other two publishers....hmmm....
