why only invite the \"top students\"?

Yes that was what I thought so, until last year when my ds was in P1. I was told, this happened to Taonan too. The only difference was the prize giving ceremony was on school day, so my friend's dd went down to take a peek at the buffet spread.

Wonder will I ever have a chance to find out whether did Kong Hwa order buffet after the ceremony. I think chances are slim for me :oops: .

My dd1 in p1 this yr and her ft encouraged the class to work hard and get into p3/7 - the best class. so it's no secret. anyway, the students themselves seem to know; even which is the \"last\" class or 3rd best, and so on.

Just came back from \"Meet Parents Day\" & my ds's CT just told me that they r going to change the top class next year since so many ppl knows about P3/7.

In fact, she is the one who told the class that only really good students wl go to P3/7. :? So when u mentioned that P3/7 is the top class, then I managed to link what she said about P3/7 last week after their CA1 test.

actually, it's quite strange to play this mystery game; what's the use of changing the best class' order but everyone knows abt it ? anyway, only the best class is offered the BICEP program - so it's very obvious. even the teachers openly told the students abt it - eg. my dd2 in P1 this yr and their ft already told them she hoped the whole class can work hard and get promoted to the best class (P3/7) together. she came home all excited abt it and asked if her sister was from P3/7 last time.


my dd2's teachers were very chatty and friendly during the meet the parents session last fri. Can't say the same for my dd1's ft (quote : \"I have no issues/complaints abt ur daughter and I believe u have nothing to ask me.\") - I left abt 5 mins later....

Anyway, I had a great time chatting with those parents who look friendly while waiting for my turn. :lol:

btw, i've attended the prize giving ceremony and indeed there's a mini buffet. but don't see the teachers or principal mingling with the parents; seems like they are at one corner talking to the VIPs.

SOS !! I've thrown away last term's parent link and now realised the P1 schedule - especially in term 3 and 4 - they listed the test and exams and the marks awarded. wonder if any kind soul can just highlight those important tests and exams where marks are awarded ??

EL Term 3 - Show & Tell 10%, Listening compre 10%, 1 best written expression 10%, grammar & vocab mini-test 10%
EL Term 4 - Oral 20%, written expression 10%, spelling 10%
Grammar & vocab test 10%, compre 10%

MA Term 3 - topical test (best of 2) 20%, math quest 10%, mental sums (best in t3) 10%
MA Term 4 - activity-based products 10%, topical tests 2X20%, mental sums 10%

CL Term 3 - performance task 30%, mini-test 10%
CL Term 4 - performance task 30%, lang paper test 30%
