FYI. My kids are currently attending Mdm Koh’s Chinese S&D class at Fu Lu Shou. The school distributed the brochure when my kids were in P1 and P2.


I know Mdm Koh currently conducts S&D lessons for P2 and P3 in the school but it’s for selected students only. She used to be ex-MBS CL teacher and is retired. She came highly recommended by my girl’s CL teacher when I asked for recommendation on how to improve her CL.

The aim for sending them to such a course is to improve their chinese oral skills which as they go up the level actually carries the same marks as composition.

Her classes are on sunday and for P1-P2, it is at 9.15 - 10.30. I am not sure if she is accepting new students since the current class size is around 8. My son told me that there are P1 MBS student in his class too.

Please share how you prepare P1s for SA? What form does the SA take and what consequences if they don't do so well?

For P1 SA, I think the major event is the CL streaming?

yesturday received my p2 dd progress report...aiyo many Bs and very little As ...this teacher a bit yiow...haaaaaaaa. How abt yours MMM and the rest?

Mostly As for the subjects. Must work on her concentration and caring of personal belongings as tr only gave C. I always thot my gal loves singing bcos she has requested for vocal training class but tr only gave C for enjoys singing. The other point for concern maybe writing meaningfully. I am struggling with her at home.

Yesterday my DS came back saying that chinese teacher told them that they would be given a few poems to choose 1 to prepare for the oral. Did yours mention about this?

Also, I just realised that there is a term 1 individual progress card in DS's bag. The teacher signed and dated it on 12 Mar. Not sure if it was given out before the 1 week school holiday

I work till midnight yesterday so have not talk to him yet. Do you or anyone have any idea what is LC for SA1 on EL and CL on 4/5 to 5/5. Please share.

Have not seen it yet. But this progress report is subjective since different teachers have different benchmark. This is the same as performance appraisal in the company.

Didn't realise my son is so crazy. He told me that he went to ask his form teacher if she is pregnant. :!: When we saw her in Feb?, i thought she is pregnant so I briefly commented that to him. But that boy actually went to ask her and she said no.... So embarassing rite. I was like... does she look angry???? He said, she was smiling when she answered. Then I asked... were there alot of people in the class? He said no since he was the 1st to arrive in the class.

Yah... was concerned if we'll encounter another issue of teacher going on maternity leave and it's near SA2???? That is more worrying.

But she probably gathered must be from parents :oops:

She is non-chinese so with the dress it's deceiving.
