Gumtree for tutors? :yikes: That never crossed my mind before.Hello Kiasu Parents,
How kiasu can one get while using these portals?
If I am looking for something (most of the times it is good deals on books and old magazines and household items), I find it tiresome to check on gumtree and then ebay and then qo10 and then amazon and so on.
How can I be more effective? Is there some formula - while looking for x, check gumtree; while looking for y, check ebay etc.
I know certain things for sure - looking for tutors - check gumtree.
What else can you suggest?
I only thought of using Gumtree to sell an aquarium I had, but then there is Carousell. -
I’ve never thought of using Gumtree for tutors. Haha.
Anyway, I find that Qoo10 seems to have the cheapest options most of the time. So I’ll usually go straight to that site. -
actually I did get a good n responsible tutor from gumtree for dd last yr but not because I know it was a good platform to find tutors. in fact, I didn’t know that either.
why don’t you just Google what u r looking for n the platform with the most hits will show? I personally prefer platforms with user ratings n feedback esp ebay n amazon. -
My favourite online shopping :-
KSP garage / secondhand books.sg - reference, classic or text books
Groupon - dinning, Swedish massage, UMF manuka honey etc
Qoo10 - casual Shoes, robotic vacuum cleaner, laptop accessories
Hardly used gumtree -

Be careful with buying cheap robot vacuum cleaners from Qoo10.sg. I bought one which was shipped in from Korea and it conked out after 2 months. No local warranty. Shipping back to vendor costs a bomb, not even including the hassle involved. My favourite online shopping :-

I have yet to try any online shopping except booking of hotel accommodation in overseas.

Do it only if you have someone at home all the time to receive your deliveries :). -

Yes, I am aware esp cheap ones. The products are normally made in China. Prior to buying, I would source for active reviews from those who have bought earlier. I had my LG Roboking Dual Eyes 5 mths back and working in great condition and noise level was surprisingly low. -

You can also deliver to office too! That's what I usually do since I in office more than at home...starlight1968sg:
