Hi, you could try look at ballet classes offered by community centers near your house. Usually they are cheaper. No harm trying ballet out to gauge her interest. My girl started ballet at 37months old. She could follow instructions although there were some exercises (e.g. lifting one leg off the ground while balancing on the other leg) that she didnt manage to do until a few months later. No harm giving it a go πŸ™‚

Oh yeah, it depends on your area. Bukit Merah Community center offers since late last year I think, but it may be out of way for you. You could go to PA site to check out other nearby community centers. My girl is with Glissade in bukit merah central.

Using the link you have posted, I saw that Kampong Kembangan CC offers Tots Ballet for young children too, but for age 3.5years old and onwards

              https://one.pa.gov.sg/CRMSPortal/CRMSPo ... 32981&CWT=

There are a few other CCs that came up in the search for \"Tiny Tots Ballet\":
              https://one.pa.gov.sg >> top panel, search with keywords \"Tiny Tots Ballet\" on \"course\".

You could call up the center/school and clarify on the course as well.

Perhaps parents staying in the east will be able to recommend other ballet schools

Thanks lonerunner... I try use your method to type in Tiny Tots Ballet in the search box and it pop up some courses for 3yo kid πŸ™‚ but it funny, when i only type in ballet, this 3yo courses do not pop up....

i think it good to start with CC course, not so exp and can let the kid have the feel of what is the dance is all about and then we will see her interest from there then slowly progress to a better sch πŸ™‚

                  Thanks

Hi there. Is City Square @farrer park convenient for you? There is a studio there that received very good reviews. The instructors are very good with children. They are offering free trial classes, you can go over there to try out first:

Dear all, I'm WC. I very new to this forum and join here.... like to enquire your opinion.. My daughter is coming 3 in this coming Sept 2015. I think of letting her learn ballet, will that be too early? or when is the suitable age to let her start off?

which school can I lookout for? as i come from Low-mid income family, so would be great if the lesson fee is not too expensive. Normally how much is the lessons fee on average?

I always heard people say that when child are young, it better to start off as early as possible....so this come to my mind

Appreciate your all output...:) thanks .....

                        Best regards....
My dd started at 2.5yr at Ballet N Music Co at United SQ. To tell you the truth from 2.5yr to 5yr she was doing exact same thing and playing most of the time in class. So it was actually a waste of $. She was still doing all kind of animal pretends and tall tall giraffe, after so many yrs there. Ballet n music charges $300+ for 3mth.

After that at 5 yr onwards I changed her to McCulley Dance at Thomson Plaza. It is much cheaper 3mths at $120, however, Ms Mc Culley is very strict and fierce. She will chase kids out of class if they misbehaves, and if 1-2 lesson the child still refuse to join in dance step, she will terminate the lesson for the child. So some parents can accept n some parents cant.

So if I knew all these learning experience, I would not send my gal so early to learn ballet.

crestar and ballet n music co. offer class to 2.5yr.

Same thing as violin, my ds1 started at 4..he has no talent, so it took him 2yr plus to get to grade2. With dd starts later at 5.5 only took 1yr. So I think prime age to do these are at 5...personal opinion, of cos there r some young prodigy case..so I'm quoting only for my own experience.
