Of course. Just withdraw cash out / via cashier order and deposit into another cheque book account of a different bank ( for example UOB) , then deposit back the UOB cheque will be considered 'fresh funds' from another bank already. Just that you need a little planning and turn around of 2 working days and the hassle of going to two banks on 2 consecutive days. Always work for me though. :siam:

That's what i did yesterday! Took out the money from POSB and bank into my UOB acct. This evening, i will drop a cheque back to my POSB acct. That's \"fresh funds\", sounds like “洗黑钱”， haha.

At most qualify as 洗钱” as the money is not 黑 to start with.

Looks like FD interest rate is really going up.

Bank of china FD is 1.38% for 6 months and 1.45% for 12 months. Minimum 50K. Rates as of today, 25 Feb 2015.

Maybank 1.55% pa for 24 months for $50K and >. posb 1.88% is still the highest. Latest the cheque must banked into another bank before 10 am tmr so that the cheque can clear on Friday for withdrawal again.
