donโ€™t be sad, the journey with our special kids is always with ups and downs. Every time I experienced down, the ups will come next.

Talking about swimming, my son has one to one coaching for more than a year, it is only recently that he can swim a short short distance with imperfect strokes. I also wonder how long more does he need to take to be able to swim properly. He also has prob concentrating and was more interested in swimming in his own way (that is to dive dip into the pool and jump up). He will keep looking at the sky if it turns dark cos he is afraid it will rain.

        Hi Double,

Thanks! My son quite concentrat in class before, not sure why recently not good. If I am not wrong, your son is also K2, next year P1. Maybe due to this reason, I was quite stressful.

Don't worry too much about day to day fluctuations. All kids are not consistent in their behaviour all the time. They may be developing in some other area, something is distracting them, they are not getting enough sleep or whatever. Just keep reminding them about what they should be doing, and try to troubleshoot where possible. And focus on the improvements they make over months or years, not days.

Yes he is going P1 next year, same as your son.
I believe my son will eventually swim, just not as fast as the other kids that's all. Your son may not be in his usual self recently, its common. Adults also have moods. ๐Ÿ˜›

I am not sure. My son love swim, so he progress quite well. I talked to his English teacher yesterday, in K2, the class duration is 1.5hr longer than K1. 15 to 20 minutes group discussion, he will lose himself during this period. He is able to do all the worksheets, but hand on activity, can not follow mul-step instructions. For him, I only can monitor first then make the decision to defer or not in the second half.

                  Hi

May I check if any of your kids is currently in Bukit Panjang Primary or Zhenghua primary school?
Wish to find out more on their learning support for special needs children.
Thanks very much in advance and appreciate your advise.

                    Also, on swimming.

Any recommendations on private coaching in west area, preferably in bukit Panjang or Chua chu kang area?
My son is 6 yrs old. He only likes to play with water. however he has phobia of getting too much water in his eyes . Only recently, he allows goggles but for short time period.
Wish to engage a private coach who is patient enough n trained to coach special needs kids.
Any recommendations? Thank you in advance

My son is in group class. I don't have 1 to 1 coach recommended.

Lots of kids don't focus during group discussions. As for multi-step instructions, again, even NT kids have problems with that. I think you may be worrying too much. Ask your son's teachers if he the worst in class in those areas - you may find that he isn't.
