        hi all,

i’ll like to enquire. My son is enrolling in P1 in the year 2018 and i understand at this moment, if i would want to enrol for phase 2B i should look into grassroots volunteering.

I would like to try for ACS Junior, in which i understand is part of Tanjong Pagar GRC. At the moment, i do have a property which is rented out under tangoing pagar GRC but its not within 1km of ACS junior.

Could someone please assist me as i’m wondering, is it possible to currently use my property address to volunteer in tangoing pager GRC… after which next year i would probably move and rent a place which is 1km within ACS Junior & also part of Tanjong Pagar GRC and continue volunteering there. Would this be possible OR do i have to already be residing within 1km and in tangoing pager GRC at this current moment?

Thank you for your kind time!

PA will based on the address in your NRIC to assign you to the relevant GRO to volunteer.

              Hi,

This is my first post. I’m interested to choose this grassroots route to qualify for p2b for registration in 2018.

Understand that i will be assigned the RC where I reside in to volunteer my service- which should be Mountbatten smc.

However I’m interested in sch in Moulmein kallang GrC. What if 2 years down the road, I moved house to Moulmein kallang Grc…

              QNS
              1) can I still volunteer my service at Mountbatten smc and get the eligibility letter from Mountbatten smc stating I can apply for sch in MK GrC (since my new address resides in MK Grc)

              2) do I need to transfer my membership to MK grc? If so, will they take into account my tenure as EM in Mountbatten Smc (meaning I do not have to start all over again as new EM ).

              Thanks!

                Hi

                RE: registering in 2015 for 2016 P1

Currently my hubby is the executive member of A GRC (A NC) which is where we are currently residing. The primary school which we want to apply (also in A GRC) is within 2 km of where we stay. In order to increase our chances, we are thinking of moving within 1 km which is still within A GRC. However we were told that because the new address is B NC even though still within A GRC a. As such, he can only be an associate member of B NC.

                My questions :
                - is an associate member still eligible to apply under Phase 2B?
                - does it make any difference if we were to move before or after issuance of the PA letter? The letter will make mention to the residential address. So is it still ok to have a different address once letter is issued?
                - when is the period when the PA letters are issued?

                Thanks.

No, only Executive Members are allowed to apply under 2B

Yes, the letter will have your current address printed and if it does not tally with your new rental address, you will not be able to use the letter

                  - when is the period when the PA letters are issued?

You will first need to do an online submission to request for PA's letter some which requires you to key in your address sometime in early or mid-june. Letter will only be issued to you just before phase 2B registration starts.

I have PM you regarding the other query on shifting.
                  Thanks.

                    Hi

May I know if it’s too late for me to join grassroots volunteer now as me girl born in 2011 and start P1 in 2018 (means register for P1 in 2017).
                    Thanks.

                      Yes, too late.

I am an active grassroots volunteer. To speak on behalf of my fellow active grassroots colleagues, please don't join just for the sake of the primary school entry. Grassroots volunteerism takes true passion in the cause, and willingness to serve your community. It is disruptive to the organisation when people come and go in a matter of a couple of years just to use this as a stepping stone to achieve personal gains. I believe most grassroots leaders who are serious about their obligations will echo my sentiments.

You may wish to check with PA to confirm whether the 2 years of service are from the date of joining or from the date you are made an executive member. If the former, then you could still be in time as the letter is issued in Jun. If the latter, then you could have missed the boat.
