Me too! My girls have been members for a few years now.

Yes, one free sundae a month. No purchase required.

We usually redeem the sundae for the girls when we
have our lunch or dinner at any of the restaurants.

Kiddie members used to get Swensens Newsletters to
be able to join cooking workshops and other fun progs
during the sch hols, Mother's Day, Children's Day (etc).
There were also contests the children can participate
in the newsletters to win ice-cream and tokens.

Now all via email.

how they expect to survive with this \"high\" level of service.

They usually won't but I must say swenson's quite a survivor! And it's my first bad encounter with swenson's...mebbe I'd just avoid the Suntec one! People there rather clinical!

I agree with you Andaiz.. the Suntec wan not so family friendly nor are

they the customer-is-always-right kind.. :roll: .. Clinical and critical. B4
you even ask, their facial expressions already tell you it would most
likely be.. a NO. Nothing more, nothing less.. just as-is. If you are
just there for the food then it wouldn't matter.. but service with a
smile (and some off-requests... ).. can honestly forget it..

We've been to other outlets where they are extremely accomodating,
like changing the smiley potatoes to fries when they ceased the hash
browns.. but down at Suntec, it'd always be.. that flat no.

Same experience each time we go there.. quite sad since there's
usually a nice range of food for parents and kiddies at Swensens
but we would rather go to family friendly Pizza Hut when we're
there.. more cosy & also more attentive to the family's needs.

how's the Swenson at Parkway ?



I have only been there once about 2 years back,

- one of the main course was extremely late
- long wait for the ice-cream after the food
- super long wait for the bill, I went to the cashier but was told \"politely\" to wait at my table :roll:

and yes, it was dinner peak hour.

Was informed they were trying to go paper-free so everything would
be via e-mail. Beats me.. i have yet to receive any newsletters for the
kiddies but they usually will e-mail to me their latest promotions and
discounts.

The outlet we usually haunt (Bt Panjang Plaza) are the ones who usually
remind us that we can claim our ice-cream for the month. Once, the usual
manager attended to me when i was settling the bill and mentioned that
she noticed we missed a month's sundae (cos no stamp) and she shared
that we can just come up to the counter and let them know that we're
just there to claim the free ice-cream... no need to specifically dine there
to qualify for it. I dunno about other outlets but in case you don't wanna
get disappointed once you're there, you can make a quick call to them
(outlet nearest to you) and confirm that no purchase is required. JMHO.

i think after our post here, Swensen biz sure go up..they must thanks us and let all KSP mummies and daddies have a free coit tower :lol:

On a separate note ...

Remember Ponderosa? I used to frequent the one at Plaza Sing. They closed down. They used to have good deals - think it was $10 for salad bar and main course. And their salad bar was extensive :drool:

Another one was Sizzler. Didn't like that though. Don't know if its still ard. Think there was one in Suntec .... :?

Yes its still there in suntec went there 4-5 months back... their salad bar is quite good then soup are good too.. though I find them little expensive

Yep expensive compared to Ponderosa...plus only serve clam chowder on weekends... I work there leh! Why would I wanna go back there on weekends? :roll:

We can't just go to their outlet and declare to be KSP members w/o proof ... :lol:
