I spent so much money on English tuition when son was sitting for PSLE...lessons were so intensive and got only a B. I dare not calculate the amount spent :nailbite:
Ladies, don't stress or get burnt out now...because July onwards, schools will push very hard...you would have to provide moral support.
Yes, moral support. Thk u for reminding
Keep telling myself, it's just a process for the 12 yo, moral support

when teachers in school start pushing from july...we cannot push at home or the kids will be burnt out. so maybe you can bring them out for ice cream or make some fruit juices...not too near PSLE oral though. -

next week is a short holiday…maybe you can bring the kids out for a walk or movie to take their brains off work. it may be 6 months to psle, but the momentum has to be built up slowly…not long yet not short. homework is never ending.

It's a challenge to doing the pacing work! -
Hi parents of p6s,
I understand your anxiety and concerns.
Pace slowly. Breathe. -

DS is taking O levels n is also experiencing the same stress as PSLE, in fact more.
He has to go back to school this week for remedial classes n he complained homework is endless.
I don't know how long he can tong.
On top of that he just returned from sch camp. He sounds like he is falling sick soon.
So PSLE is just the beginning of education stress in Singapore. More to come at O n A levels. -

my son has to return to school for additional class today. P1 is the beginning of education stress here. -
Hi!
Need advise on how can I help my girl to overcome exam nervous?
She will automatic do her homework daily and revise for her exam. I can see that she put in extra effort in her work this year. But when the math and science results came out, I can see silly mistakes here there which she knew how to do them in normal practice papers.
Lately, the form teacher called me that she vomitted before the one of the CA paper starts.
And she broke down in tears at the end of the math P1 with 3 questions that were tough. The invigilator thought that she broke down because she could not finish the paper.
Her school papers may not be easy. I heard that last SA2, there were 2 cases whereby the children broke down loudly during the exam and have to be brought out from the exam to visit the GP.
Last week, she told me she that her mind was blank during her science exam. She put in alot of effort to study for her science. In the end, she scored 70. She did not score well for MCQ and OE with marks not rewarded in full as I have seen the marker put insert arrow in a few answers - missing information.
I am now worried, how to teach her manage her nervous and stress?
Thank you in advance.
