So we took a walk during earth hour, and counted abt 159 houses with lights on and 194 without. That’s a 55% participation rate. Not bad, but I guess also because some folks were out since it’s Sat night.


At Ocean Park, I noticed about 75% participated while at the point blks near Ngee Ann Pri, only about 50%.

Perhaps in time, more awareness is created thru this event and people are more conscious of the need to conserve our resources.

Anyone to share what they did during that 1 hour?

We participated in Earth Hour. Turned off all lights and had lit candles around the house. Kids also took their evening showers in candle light. :imanangel:

I'm sure they like the experience and the fact that, in their small ways, they've contributed to the event.

Yes, they did enjoy the experience and it made them more aware too. To while away the time, both girls called grandma and chatted with her. So it was family bonding time too.

Can't go lights out totally. Will use less electricity tmr night coz my dad (80yr) is staying w/me. Can't see well, needs a few lights for him to move ard the house. I have to leave the night light on even when he's sleeping, just in case he needs to use the toilet.

I auntie also wear low waist jeans..more comfy leh, when I need to sit down..I look for seats with back rest or against the wall..to avoid accidental exposure and ppl puking on their food. :sick:
