LogicMills - Community Thread

How is this Logicmills so far? Seem like it is more on playing games to me. I mean I'm paying $$ for my kid to play games?

Anyone if have try Logicmills please share if you had expereinced with them.

Yup, I pay for him to play games. Quantitatively, I don’t know what he gets out of it - there is nothing examinable, nothing certifiable. But I get regular formal feedback letters from logicmills about DS1’s progress.

Although it’s ‘only games’, I feel that these involve logic, rules and strategy (in some cases). I don’t do that at home with him, so am happy to pay for this.

Also, there are weekly handouts for parents to read and some suggested activities to do with your child. Like planning a picnic for them to gain understanding on the planning process and such.

Herad that this Logimills had been tying up with various primary or secondary schools. I also do not know thier products well & heard the price is also quite on a high side I think.

yup, according to the rep, they are running experiments in schools - eg like half the class exposed to LM, the other not...and apparently there were results that indicated children with exposure to LM classes tended (statistically speaking) to do better in psle. BUT, this is something I heard from them (I cannot prove it), AND each kid is different - one child may benefit a lot, another may not. So take with huge dose of salt.

I'm a believer in that pp who do well in such games are very smart (I'm not one of them, but have seen friends like that). So I'm keen to expose my kid in this area. My personal opinion only.

kindy class quite ok lah, I'm paying $205 for 8 lessons. And they are flexible such that you can stop/start anytime - and won't have to recur registration costs (unlike some other schools i know of).

Thanks for sharing on Logimills, so on average is like $25.65 per class? What is the group size for 1 class?They seem to only have 1 centre in Singapore & operates on a weekend?

Hi titank, for kindy classes, I understand there is only one on Saturdays at 11.15am in Simei. I think there are 5 in this group. Used to be 3, grown a wee bit. ATS (ie for primary kids are held in Bugis).

I think for this type of class, to have more is much preferred cos there is more interaction and points of view, but I think parents are generally resistant to paying for games - so pick up is a bit slow.

Your kid is in the Kindy Prog with Logicmills? I manage to sign up my boy in the ATS Program & hope it do helps where he can applied what he had learn.

The Kindy Prog seem rather long where range from 96 weeks? :lol:

The kindy program seems to be going on forever - there is no end date. My kid just finished his last lesson. I had to pull him out cos there is a clash in timing with DS2's ICL lesson. DH was worried that if he could not make it, one person will not be able to cope being in 2 places.

I actually prefer the ATS cos it's a more concrete in the things they are supposed to learn, but DS1 is considered too young. Will look to see if there are good timings next year when he's in P1. They have just opened up another branch in Guillermard.

Just last Saturday have a trial class at the Guillemard Logicmills for both my DS (ATS) & DD (Kindy). In the end find that the kindy prog may not be suitable for DD where guess she is still young.

Ya impossible for 1 parent to appear in 2 places esp 2 kids are having enrichement. At least must have some kind of timing interval apart.

Signed up my 5 year old for a 2 (half days) holiday program…dunno how good it will be…
