      Hi

      RE: registering in 2015 for 2016 P1

Currently my hubby is the executive member of A GRC (A NC) which is where we are currently residing. The primary school which we want to apply (also in A GRC) is within 2 km of where we stay. In order to increase our chances, we are thinking of moving within 1 km which is still within A GRC. However we were told that because the new address is B NC even though still within A GRC a. As such, he can only be an associate member of B NC.

      My questions :
      - is an associate member still eligible to apply under Phase 2B?

No, only Executive Members are allowed to apply under 2B

      - does it make any difference if we were to move before or after issuance of the PA letter? The letter will make mention to the residential address. So is it still ok to have a different address once letter is issued?

Yes, the letter will have your current address printed and if it does not tally with your new rental address, you will not be able to use the letter

      - when is the period when the PA letters are issued?

You will first need to do an online submission to request for PA's letter some which requires you to key in your address sometime in early or mid-june. Letter will only be issued to you just before phase 2B registration starts.

I have PM you regarding the other query on shifting.
      Thanks.

        Hi

May I know if it’s too late for me to join grassroots volunteer now as me girl born in 2011 and start P1 in 2018 (means register for P1 in 2017).
        Thanks.

          Yes, too late.

I am an active grassroots volunteer. To speak on behalf of my fellow active grassroots colleagues, please don't join just for the sake of the primary school entry. Grassroots volunteerism takes true passion in the cause, and willingness to serve your community. It is disruptive to the organisation when people come and go in a matter of a couple of years just to use this as a stepping stone to achieve personal gains. I believe most grassroots leaders who are serious about their obligations will echo my sentiments.

You may wish to check with PA to confirm whether the 2 years of service are from the date of joining or from the date you are made an executive member. If the former, then you could still be in time as the letter is issued in Jun. If the latter, then you could have missed the boat.

I agree. In the past, I was also contemplating whether to join grassroots or a PV just to get entry into my choice Primary School.

In the end, I chose to be PV becos I know I can never commit the time n energy for grassroot activities.

end of the day, the 2 years or what…

its a PA gate keeping regulation.

they can potentially stop the endorsement by the Adviser.
(i.e. adviser don’t even get to see the form)

on another note, if you sibeh gum with your adviser, you can also potentially skip the PA (i think)

so, how? 2 years? good luck …
blame it on that you never plan earlier, (wanna carry balls also need to plan swee swee one.)

and i have no opinion on people who come on board just for phase 2B as i will need to use that option one day… not soon but not that far also. but don’t make it sibeh obvious la…

Go by advisor route? No use one.

School looks out for PA letter with PA logo not PAP logo.

Those people want to carry balls also dont know how plan swee swee. See already so ugly on them.

Log in to http://www.grassrootsconnect.org.sg to submit your P2B application.
Once approved, your CO will ask you to collect the letter.
