      Hi!

NJC is not a SAP Sec/IP cum JC school right?
Which means Higher Chinese bonus points obtained at PSLE cannot be used for application to NJC Year 1/Sec 1?
Does NJC offer Higher Chinese as an examinable subject at Year 1 to Year 4?
Yes to all your questions! 😂

NJC is not a SAP school, and the Higher Chinese bonus points cannot be used for application to NJC. Most NJC students take up Higher Chinese. There is a handful of students who are taking Express Chinese. I think NJC used to offer only Higher Chinese, but this year onwards JH1 students can choose to study Express Chinese instead.

Normal Chinese is actually what Normal stream kids take. Kids in Express take Express Chinese (which was \"normal\" without the capital N in our day).

I’m not aware about 30/4 but the following day is a public holiday.

There’s one class of Express Chinese for JH1 this year. Express class completes the syllabus in 5 years while HMT students complete the Chinese syllabus in 4 years.

              Cheers!

Mean that it’s almost like SAP stream since only 1 class do 普华.

Do the student get to pick & are eventually allocated to the CCA they’re opt for? Cuz a lot of other schools view CCA so competitively that students need to audition for it & eventually don’t get to their CCA choice

Does NJ have O Level class for IP students who don’t thrive under IP track? Or these IP students will need to transfer out?

There’s no O level track for NJC’s IP. The school provides high level of support to ensure students can cope with the curriculum, eg, small class size of 25.

In year 1, all students undergo a CCA prog called CAFE, where students get to try at least 2 different types of CCA (sports and performing arts). The outcome is dependent on student’s choice and availability of places of the CCA.

                        Hi Socks!

                        Thanks for the info!

Good to know of the smaller class size & the CCA "CAFE" Program in NJ!

                        Your kid(s) is in NJ?

Do you have any idea if it’s very competitive to DSA via Academic to NJ?

Do u know what was the PSLE cut off score (2014 batch entering in Yr 1 2015) for entry to NJ?
