tankee,
is this the one from Ginza Food Street in Japan? Cos the best one i have had so far is from there. The queue is horrible!
they have quite a number of stalls in Japan and some other countries.
their website is http://www.gindaco.com -
I personally like the ones at B1 Taka food hall; and also the Bugis junction (B1 also, fairly near Cold storage). It’s more the older type that’s been around, and the staff do it well.
Don’t like the ones at Plaza Singapura, a bit new fangled for my taste.
Rgds ION, I heard about it - some say shiok, others say not. But they only have 1 type (the octopus one), at least the last time I asked. -
after eating the one at a roadside stall outside a train station in kyoto, i find tt those sold in s’pore cannot match in terms of taste, size and value for money. sigh…

For ION, must eat immediately. It doesnt taste good if you bring home. -

From ION? Is it true that they only have the squid filling or do they have other types of filling? :? -
Yup, the one in ION only sells octopus, but they’re the closest one can get to those in Jap. Crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. However I think standard has dropped…when they first started, they flew the Jap chef (are they called chef?) skewering the balls and it really was done to perfection. Nowadays not so consistent…

thanks, then looks like I will have to give that a miss. Don't like those with squid inside. Prefer those with prawns. Thanks for sharing.
