        Yes, DS2 in NUSH too.

        Year 1 & 2 not too bad but come Year 3 & 4, esp Year 4, πŸ˜“

Every subject has at least 1 to 2 projects, be it group or individual. If you have electives and/or enrichments, the more ....

        dagong99,

        Noted.Thanks πŸ˜„

Dear nobhill88, Walterp, matadorrepy, dagong99, macflashpay, and other parents who pm-ed me,

Thank you very much for all your generous sharing. it has given me a valuable insight into how the school runs, the pacing, the kind of students who thrive, and the sweat that goes into this journey. It is truly not for everyone, but for the right child, it can be a one of a kind launching pad.

I recently spoke to ds again about NUSH versus a couple other schools, and he observed that the students at NUSH seem to know what they want. I think that is very true. The passion in the students’ various pet subjects definitely did come through. I can see where ds will and will not fit in, so whether to encourage him to try or steer him away is going to be a dilemma and something I have to figure out as I go along.

          Thanks again, everyone!

Is there no more government subsidies for year 5 boarding? Without subsidy, and with no EESIS or ESIP scholarship, it costs $320+$700 per mth for year 5. That is a huge sum. Is there still compulsory boarding for year 5, or is it optional?

Next year Year 5 is still compulsory. But was told will utilise some of school funds/donations. Probably after that not compulsory anymore. Even with EESIS, it's still a big sum if you have 2 kids going boarding. It's like having another car πŸ˜“

                  Two? Twins in Y5?

While $300 is not a small sum, look at it as the price to pay for Life Skill enrichment. Also, there should be some savings in utilities and food since the child will not be home most of the time.

Life skill enrichment ? Not neccessary only to boarding, I have many \"life skill enrichment practicals\" at home too. Mine include dish to laundry washing, laundry hanging and folding, vacuum cleaning & floor mopping, toilet cleaning, bedsheet changing, cooking, car washing, etc ... Full training provided and it's all free of charge. My boys are already \"fully-equipped\", now they will ask \"What's my housework duty today ?\" :rotflmao:

They prefer to stay at home if it's not compulsory. 还是θ‡ͺε·±ηš„η‹—ηͺε₯½γ€‚ πŸ˜‰
