If parents can suggest solutions without having access to all the information privy only to the authorities, wouldn’t that be an insult to MOE or LTA or whoever is in charge?

I am not sure what complaining can achieve, sometimes people just need an outlet to vent that frustration, sometimes people hope to gain a different perspective, and sometimes, new solutions can come up.

I was just at a duck rice stall the night before asking for a duck drumstick. The guy was left with just half a duck. You know usually they won’t give you that last drumstick bcos it’s not nice to sell half a duck without a drumstick.

I sulked a little and shook my head when he suggested just duck meat. He thought for a while and then decided to give me the drumstick.

Sometimes complaints do help to throw up new ideas or help people to reach a compromise.

But shutting people up will just lead to hostility.
