If your dc got a chance to be involved in such an important project in future, he must be 'somebody'. I am sure he will be smart enough to discern right from wrong and tell you 'you had over-reacted but thanks for your abundant love for me'.

So you are saying the 500 petitions and the parents and the students are wrong and \" over reacted \". Everyone can discern the right and wrong and Your standard could be very different from ours . In fact I dont think anyone said it is right or wrong , just asking a price tag for the \" right\" in your definition .

Anyway , you don't need to convince me or worried how my dc will react , let's think about the bigger picture .

If parents can suggest solutions without having access to all the information privy only to the authorities, wouldn't that be an insult to MOE or LTA or whoever is in charge?

I am not sure what complaining can achieve, sometimes people just need an outlet to vent that frustration, sometimes people hope to gain a different perspective, and sometimes, new solutions can come up.

I was just at a duck rice stall the night before asking for a duck drumstick. The guy was left with just half a duck. You know usually they won't give you that last drumstick bcos it's not nice to sell half a duck without a drumstick.

I sulked a little and shook my head when he suggested just duck meat. He thought for a while and then decided to give me the drumstick.

Sometimes complaints do help to throw up new ideas or help people to reach a compromise.

But shutting people up will just lead to hostility.

I see your point but do the affected parents see the points of the non-affected?
And if you see someone having an issue and keep 转牛角尖, do you or do you not paint a bigger picture for her to see？Or do you support and reinforce her stance and let her sink into deeper resentment?
